When and Why to Take Help of a Copywriting Company

There is no denying in the fact that copywriting is becoming the need of the hour. There are lots of companies that are selling the same or slightly different but quality copywriting services as claimed. It implies the fact that competition is at its very best and there should be specific strategies to deal with this prevailing competition. In these circumstances, there is no better way than to go for professional copywriting services.

Why to choose a copywriting company

There are lots of reasons that accentuate the fact that a copywriting company can help in many ways. However, the best way to describe the importance of copywriter is by saying that a copywriter can make people know about your business. It means that advertising is the basic concept associated with copywriting.

It is a fact that if people will not be aware of your name, they will never be able to come to your site to check your best offers. So, going with professional copywriting services is the best thing to do in these circumstances.

Big businesses go for big investment portfolios and most part of their portfolios deals with certain advertising strategies. A copywriter can really help you by making your site popular with his compelling word power at some reasonable competitive rates. It means that if you will go with other means of advertising and marketing, you will have to spend more money as compared to a copywriter.

Finding a copywriter is not difficult at all as internet has resolved most of the issues. However, finding a professional copywriter may take some time, but, once you will be able to find one, it will really be a smooth sailing ahead. There is no doubt in the fact that people don’t like to be sold to, but, they love to buy. That’s exactly is the psychological trait that a professional copywriter can easily manipulate in best of your interest.

Surely, there are loads of points which suggest that you must go with copywriting as it can really be a solution to most of your advertising problems.

When to go for copywriting companies

If you have already understood the points which emphasize the importance of copywriting, then you must also understand as when to go for a copywriting company. Actually, there are different concepts in this regard as people are of the view that copywriting is a form of advertising and advertising should be before the launching of your product so people may become anxious to check that out.

However, there are some other people who believe that copywriting should be done as soon as you introduce your new product or new website. However, you must go in a different way in this very situation as here you must go with link building and SEO copywriting to get a targeted traffic to your site.

As a whole, it can be said that there are different ways that are used by copywriting companies and these ways are to help you in different situations. So, if you are thinking that you are not getting enough sales in the recent times, you must consult with a copywriting company as they may help you in the best possible way.

Ten Reasons to Consider Copywriting

Looking to chuck that full-time job for a life of full-time writing? Or maybe you’ve already dumped the day job but aren’t quite as busy as you’d like to be. Why not take a closer look at copywriting?

Copywriting, also known as business or promotional writing, can do more than put a few extra bucks in your wallet — it can also help you develop as a writer. Here are ten reasons why:

1. Copywriting pays well. Actually it can pay very well. I know copywriters who easily make six figures in a year. That’s because copywriters charge by the hour rather than the by the word or page. Beginning copywriters usually start at or an hour, but if they’re good (or good at asking for what they’re worth — a rare trait in writers but one definitely worth developing) they can quickly move to to an hour. Senior copywriters charge well over 0 an hour.

Now you probably won’t start at 0 an hour, but even a few small jobs at an hour can really boost your bottom line.

2. Copywriting pays you before begin working. Yes, you heard right. You can actually ask for a deposit before you start writing. (What other kind of writing allows you to do that?) Moreover, your clients will EXPECT this.

Deposits range from one-third to one-half of your estimated fee. You can also arrange it where you get paid throughout the process — i.e. one-third in the beginning, one-third with the first draft and one-third when you deliver the final product.

3. Copywriting fits into your schedule. Don’t want to do it full-time? Just take on jobs when your other writing work is slow or you need the extra cash. Now to land those jobs you’ll have to do some networking, but believe me, that’s a good thing. As a full-time freelance writer, finding ways to connect with the rest of the human race is a constant challenge. Going out and networking can be the answer to the secluded, sometimes-cut-off life of a writer.

4. Copywriting helps your other writing. Writing good copy means writing clean, crisp and powerfully. It means explaining products and services clearly. It means organizing ideas to make the biggest impact. It means knowing how to edit your own work — including being able to recognize your writing flaws and fix them.

Sound familiar?

As you can see, the same rules to good copywriting also apply to other kinds of writing. But with copywriting, those rules are even more exaggerated. Your writing has to be lean and mean — there’s absolutely no room for extra words. You need to get in, make your point, and get out. No matter what kind of writing you do, learning to write this tight will help you.

I’ve discovered that copywriting has strengthened my fiction and other writing. It’s forced me to trim out the fat, leaving only the powerful words that pull their own weight. In fact, trying a variety of writing styles has helped me discover and intensify my writing voice.

5. Copywriting helps you learn about marketing. What’s the essence of copywriting? Using words to sell. You also have to learn about the different marketing vehicles and how to write for each of them (i.e. writing for the Web is very different than writing a 30-second radio spot). You learn about target markets, goals and marketing plans. This will all help you market yourself and your other writing.

6. Copywriting helps you develop regular writing habits. Clients give you deadlines. Deadlines mean you have to produce regardless of what your muse decides to do or even where your muse is. You want to get paid? You get the work done.

Also, just by picking up a few extra copywriting jobs means you’re writing more. The more you write, the better you’ll get at writing AND the better you’ll get at just sitting down and putting words on paper no matter what your mood is.

7. Copywriting helps you develop a professional attitude about writing. There’s nothing that makes you feel more like a professional writer than having people pay you to write. It’s a great boost to your ego (to say nothing for your bank account). Also, as a professional copywriter, you’ll need business cards, a Web site, a desk, office supplies, etc. Plus you’ll have to start introducing yourself as a professional writer. All these things will help you cultivate an image of a serious writer.

8. Copywriting can boost your ego. Unlike other forms of writing where kudos are few and far between, copywriting clients are usually pretty good about telling you how much they like what you wrote and how much they enjoy working with you. Many times you’ll even get thanked (I know, amazing concept). Best yet, you can take advantage of all that goodwill and ask for testimonials, which you then put on your marketing materials for other people to see. (You can even read them on those really bad days when you wonder why it ever occurred to you that you could write).

9. Copywriting can help you learn how to handle criticism. Okay — I know I just got finished telling you about all the compliments you’ll receive, which you will if you do a good job, but at the same time you will be asked to make changes. It’s a fact of life. Sometimes those changes are very minor, but you almost always go through a second or third draft (and sometimes even a tenth draft, but we won’t talk about those right now). However, and this is important to remember, your clients can and will still love your writing and still ask you to make changes. After all, you don’t know their business or their customers the way they do, and there will be things you just won’t know.

Because these changes are usually completely separate from your writing style, they’re a lot easier to hear and a lot easier to make then, say, someone hates one of your novel’s subplots. And if clients do want to make a change you don’t agree with, feel free to discuss it with them. You are the expert here. Clients are hiring you because you know how to write and they don’t. They’ll listen to you, and even if you end up making that change, at least you’ve discussed it.

All of this is good practice. After awhile, you’ll learn to separate constructive criticism from nasty criticism, and eventually learn not to take even the nasty criticism personally. I’m not saying criticism won’t still hurt, I’m just saying all of this will help you develop a professional attitude about it.

10. Copywriting can increase your knowledge. Not only will you learn about different businesses, but different industries and different niches. You’ll learn about problems, challenges and successes. All stuff you can use in future articles and novels.

There’s actually more than just ten ways copywriting can help you as a writer — it can sharpen your interviewing skills and beef up your contact list. But ten ways sounded good, so I thought I would stick with that. Regardless, the skills and information you learn as a copywriter can also help you become a better writer in general.

Learn What Sets Premium Copywriting Services Apart

Copywriting is not the talk of the season, but, it’s the need of the hour. It means that if you want to promote your business in style, then you will have to go for professional copywriting services.

Types of copywriting companies

It may be new for some people, but, there are different types of copywriting companies in the real world. These companies are distinguished by their skills and experience. The importance of experience is well known. No one can deny the role that experience plays in order to get things done in a better way. Actually, experience is all about knowing those problems that can come in your way while achieving certain tasks. That’s exactly something that differentiates between different copywriting companies.

There are lots of copywriting services available for you to go with. However, you will never be able to achieve all the benefits associated with copywriting unless you go with premium copywriting services. There are lots of things that separate premium copywriting services from others.

10 Tips to Finding the Perfect SEO Copywriting Services

Are you trying to find the perfect SEO copywriting services for your business? Not sure how to find one? And if you do, how will you know when you have found the right copywriter?

Well here are ten tips to help you find the best SEO Copywriting services:

Make sure you are considering an SEO Copywriter and not just a writer who knows what SEO is. The main difference being that an SEO Copywriter has the necessary skills to sell your company online. These are copywriters who specialize in direct mail, article marketing, website copy, SEO article writing and advertising copy. They understand that the merging of high quality writing and SEO techniques is acquired only through practice. Try and shop around as many writers focus on a particular type of copywriting or subject matter. Make sure that the person you are hiring has some experience in the type of writing you are looking for. Always ask to see their portfolio for examples of their writing. Be willing to pay for a quality writer! Although there are copywriters out there that are new to the business and will charge pennies on the dollar for your writing assignments, don’t hire based on price alone. If you need to add value to your business then you should be prepared to pay a reasonable price for such quality copywriting. One surefire way of knowing if you are dealing with a professional SEO copywriter is if they present you with a lot of questions. Why? Because this assists the copywriter to ensure that your content is correctly search engine optimized. Such questions to be prepared for are: Who is your target market? How do you intend to use the copywritten content? What actions do you want the reader to take? What are the features and/or benefits of your product or service? Do you have testimonials from your clients that can be included in the piece? Always have a contract signed and approved by both you and the Copywriter prior to the work commencing, and remember to read the fine print. Be sure to read it carefully to find out how many revisions are included and if the copywriter offers any guarantees. Be prepared to pay a deposit. The majority of SEO Copywriters in business today want a guarantee that they will be paid for their time and services. Keep in mind that you will lose your deposit should you cancel the assignment for any reason after the copywriter has begun working on it. Remember that the copywriter deserves to be paid for their time as they have already put in time and effort into your project. Have a clear idea of what you want out of the writing before your hire a copywriter. You will need to be able to give the Copywriter as many details as possible about your project. It is very important that you have a well-defined concept of the range, focus, objectives and particulars of the project prior to hiring a Copywriter. Prepare a rough draft of the content that you envision. This is particularly helpful if you have a tight budget since most writers either charge an hourly rate or bid per writing project. By giving the Copywriter an outline of what it is that you are looking for, they can quickly and easily complete the project for you in less time and with less cost to you. Plan on a few re-writes. It is always difficult for a copywriter to take your thoughts and write them onto paper. Their first submission will always be a draft that you will be able to edit and give suggestions back to the copywriter who can then, in turn, provide you with a more polished final copy. Do not suddenly change the article format or subject matter. This will cost you more in the long run, as a copywriter bids on your initial project and subject matter and subsequently creates an initial draft, based on that subject matter and format. If you abruptly change things then you will have to expect to not only pay for work that is already completed, but for the new work as well.

Each SEO Copywriter that you encounter will have their own individual strengths and weakness. Your job will be to find the copywriting services that fits best with your company’s needs.

How To Find The Ideal Freelance Business-to-Business Copywriter

If you do a web search on how to find a good freelance b-to-b copywriter, you will get dozens of results purporting to give you good advice. Many of them, however, seem to just list some boilerplate answers without really going deeper into the issue. This story may give you a slightly different angle.

Do your homework

First, determine what you want. Make sure you have enough background and clear objectives set before contacting potential copywriter candidates. Remember, you’re looking for professionals, and professionals hate a waste of their time just as much as you do.

Also, if you have a well-prepared backgrounder and a fixed target, it will position you as a client higher on the copywriter’s “most wanted clients” list than someone who makes the first contact empty-handed. Professionals like to work with professionals.

Forget your prejudices

With the World Wide Web, you are really operating worldwide. If your opinion is that you absolutely have to have a fellow New Yorker to do your job or “I can’t imagine working with a foreigner” or you couldn’t possibly consider anyone who hasn’t written anything for X Corporation, you might want to think again. Widening your perspectives may give you higher commitment, lower cost and better results you ever imagined.

Search, query, find out

Unfortunately, this is the most tedious part of your quest. Depending on how you formulate your search term — “b2b copywriter”, “b-to-b copywriter”, “business-to-business copywriter”, “freelance copywriter” etc — you will, in any case, get hundreds of thousands of results on Google, so some sifting, and thus putting in hours of work, is unavoidable.

Having accepted the workload, look at the copywriters’ websites. Are they structured logically? Do they give you enough information on their expertise, specialities, work process? Is their self-promotion text free from grammatical errors? Does it flow naturally? If there are testimonials on their websites, are they plausible? Call some of the people who signed the testimonials and check if they remember giving such a testimonial.

Do the people portray an easy-going, client-oriented image of themselves or do you get a feeling they are stuffy and conceited? Trust your instinct, your first impression is probably right.

Questions tell more than answers

No matter how well you have prepared your backgrounder, it will not answer all of a good copywriter’s questions. Don’t worry, that’s the way it should be. The important thing is to analyse how they get back to you. Are they asking relevant, specifying questions or boldly announcing that they can do the job? Be more interested in the people who ask questions than in those who provide answers off the cuff.

What, no samples or portfolio?

Many of the boilerplate answers to finding a b2b copywriter tell you to look for online writing samples. Smart copywriters who know their job, however, seldom put up writing samples on their sites. There are a number of reasons for that.

First and foremost, every client’s needs are specific. Even though the copywriter may have written copy for your industry, it is impossible to give all the background and the targets set for the piece accurately enough to give you a full picture of why the copy is like it is. The smart copywriter does not want to be judged on false premises.

There are also jobs that, while not being exactly secret, are not meant to be publicised outside the target audience, and the copywriter may have chosen not to place them on his or her site for the whole world to see.

You will do better if you contact your shortlist of copywriters and ask them to prove themselves. Give them your well-prepared backgrounder and then watch how quickly they respond to your query and whether they seem to understand what types of challenges your business faces. This is a better indication of their skills and commitment than an online sample which may or may not come close to what you’re looking for.

There are even copywriters who are willing to provide a free copy sample based on your brief if getting you as a client is important for them. Go ahead and ask boldly. This will give you a much better view of their capabilities of identifying your problem and their style of writing.

No need to jump in at the deep end

Many good copywriters offer a copy review service. Whether they call it copy review, copy critique, copy analysis or whatever, the point is: this service is a low-cost, risk-free way of finding out a lot more of the copywriter you’re interested in.

Give the shortlisted copywriters an existing marketing copy (of course not forgetting to state what it was supposed to achieve) and ask for a review. If you inform them that this is a competition that will result in choosing a long-term partner, you will probably get a very good price on the job, if not a free analysis.

Most good things in life are not free

Even if you don’t need to invest a lot of money in the project, finding your ideal b2b copywriter will take time, as pointed out above.

Being prepared to spend some money will help. If you’re really after a good, committed copywriter and building a long-term relationship, consider either the copy review route suggested above or offering every person on the list a small sum of money for a sample text. Within reason, of course. What you should aim at is a short landing page or a magazine ad, not expect them to provide a whole website for 100 dollars.

The benefit of investing a small sum of money will help both you and your copywriter candidates. You, because the sum is small. The potential copywriters, because you’re establishing a lot of credibility by being willing to pay for their effort.

To summarise: if you’re willing to put in a little time and perhaps even some money, your research will produce results. Honest, open-minded professionals feel comfortable with honest, open-minded clients. For a long-term partnership, a real win-win situation.

Affordable Copywriting Services-when English is the Second Language But First Choice

Cost-effective copywriting services

Writing the content for a company’s website is not a child’s play. It requires a lot of research and talent to deliver impressive and persuasive content that converts the website visitor into a customer soon after they read your content. Hence, the salaries demanded by copywriting professionals are too high that are often unaffordable for most website owners. Also, along with a handsome salary package are the benefits of life insurance and others that are expected from the companies. So, outsourcing copywriting services is the best way to go for a creative, positive and persuasive writing copy.

Outsource copywriting services – An affordable option

Copywriting is basically meant to lure the potential customers towards your services so you need to hire highly skilled professional copywriters. An, outsourcing is one of the viable means of hiring affordable copywriting services from third world countries where labor charges are yet too less in comparison to UK an US. You can anytime operate through any of the auction-based sites and offer your project to fulfill the requirement of copywriting services for your company. The bids are placed by outsourcing copywriting firms and freelance copywriters at highly competitive rates and you may select the copywriting firm that suits the budget and the requirements of your website in the best possible way.

English – not the primary language with copywriters of Asian countries

However, considering the difference in the currency rates, many companies from abroad outsource their services to Asian countries such as India and Pakistan for affordable copywriting services. Nonetheless, one problem that they often face in this outsourcing business to Asian countries is that as English is not the primary language of these professionals, at times grammatical errors, unclear messages, poor phrasing, spelling errors are the common problems that are often found in the work delivered by some of the incompetent professionals of Asian countries. Word-to-word conversion from their native language into English is also done by some copywriters of these countries and thereby leading to blunders.

Finding the best copywriters in Asian countries

Such work is highly unacceptable. But, undoubtedly even the best copywriters at minimal rates can also be found in these countries only. English is the widely accepted business language and impeccable writing copies are expected from copywriters, irrespective of the fact if English is their primary language or not. Finding the keywords for creating an impact on the readers, simple and easy to comprehend language, focusing on the target audience and deciding the aim for writing the content (whether brand awareness, product image or sales) are all necessary points that a good copywriter must know before he/she starts writing.

So, it all depends upon you, if you have the discretion to select the best copywriters or not. To make sure that you do not fell into the trap of some incompetent copywriting service providers, it would be a good idea to select the copywriters by reviewing their work thoroughly for pros and cons before you hire them for your company website’s project.

Therefore, while selecting an affordable copywriting firm or professional, emphasis on quality of work that is delivered by the service provider is equally important as the consideration of the budget. So, what are you waiting for? Start searching for a good copywriting service provider on the Internet who can create a powerful writing copy for your website.

Tips for Setting Your Copywriting Rates

A copywriting job can mean brisk business, especially for writers who have the skills and experience. However, that is only if the writer knows how to strategically price his copywriting services, something that can be very tricky, especially for beginners. Setting a rate for copywriting can be confusing, particularly because you don’t want to overcharge and turn away prospects or undercharge and not be paid what you deserve. Here are some of the most important things that you should consider when setting your copywriting rates:

Different copywriters charge different rates

This is due mainly to the type of skills you have, your writing expertise and experience. Beginner copywriters, for example, cannot charge the same rates as more experienced ones.

The key here is to prove that you can deliver. Even if you have the skills but don’t have the experience, it can take a while before you can charge a rate as high as those charged by a copywriter with more experience than you do. This, even if you will be writing on the same topic. A Web article, for example, may cost only for a beginner copywriter while a more experienced copywriter may charge at least 0.

The type of writing and topic

The type of writing project and its topic will also affect copywriting rates. An article written on a general topic, for example, may be charged at a lower rate than a write-up about a project with a specialized topic. Article writing, newsletters, brochures, ads, ghostwriting a book, news stories, press releases, etc.; require different types of research and styles of writing.

The type of research that has to go into writing will also influence the rates, the more difficult, intricate and technical the writing needs to be, the higher its rate. Extras that add value to a copywriting service such as search engine optimization or writing using HTML can also allow a writer to charge more.

To give you an idea how much copywriters charge for their services, here are some ballpark figures you might find useful:

For articles that will appear on a website, copywriters charge anywhere from 0 to 0 per write-up. If you choose to charge by the hour, the range can be anywhere from a low of to around . For Web content that will fill 10 pages, you might want to charge for about ,000 to ,500, depending on the type of content.

For press releases, copywriters often charge from 0 to around 0 while others may charge lower, starting at around 0 or 0.

For sales letters, freelance copywriters usually charge a whopping ,000 to around ,000 per letter. Some, such as those still building their portfolio, can charge from a low of 0 to around 0.

The number of words

Many copywriters charge per word while others prefer a set number of minimum words per write-up. These become the basis of their copywriting rates. For example, a copywriter may charge a lower rate for a 300-word write-up than he would for a 500-word article.

The frequency of the writing project

There are different copywriting rates set for one-time writing projects and for continuous assignments. Copywriters will generally charge a slightly lower copywriting rate for continuous projects than for one-time only articles.

After service
As part of their copywriting services, copywriters often allow one revision per article which is included in the set rate. Further revisions and additions are sometimes billed extra or based on a per hour rate. Copywriters may charge from about to an hour to make their revisions.

Self-marketing

Believe it or not, how much you can charge for your copywriting rates will also depend on how well you can sell your writing skills. If you’re unsure of what to charge and less confident about your writing, you’re likely to charge a rate that is less than what’s reasonable for your level of skills and experience. Know your skills and be confident so you will never have to charge an unreasonable rate.

Professional Copywriting Techniques: Influencing Others Through Words

Copywriting is a manner of promoting products, services, ideas or even personalities to the public through the use of words. A good copy has a textual style and content that can effectively sway people’s opinions about the object that the copy is intended for. You might not realize the fact that professional copywriting has been around for a long time influencing how society thinks and affecting human lives in more ways than one.

For business entities, professional copywriting is indispensable because it is the cornerstone of brand building. Remember that unforgettable tagline your telephone company has printed right under its logo? It is a good bet that those words are a product of some professional copywriter’s imagination. Copywriting also provides for effective presentations and information sharing within industries.

Over the Internet, well-arranged words are the only means that people and businesses can get the attention they want from the public. In websites, professional copywriting is evident in the way keywords are arranged for search engine optimization, which in turn, is largely the way marketing nowadays is conducted online. Even ordinary websites that do not sell anything need to have an effective copy or risk losing visitor traffic.

But more often than not, you will see the full contributions of professional copywriting in marketing. It is an important component in promoting products or services. As it is involved in all advertising campaigns done in the free world, copywriting has greatly influenced people’s buying decisions. And because of this important function, the scope of copywriting has engulfed the whole of mass media.

While copywriters already abound in the real world and in cyberspace, it is never too late to learn the concepts of professional copywriting. Learn how to make your own copy like professionals do so you can save on your expenses, grow your business, or dabble into professional copywriting altogether. The following are the top copywriting techniques that you can use to help you on your way to becoming a professional. It does not matter what you want to promote, professional copywriting revolves around these basic concepts.

Make Broad Ideas Simple

Professional copywriters have unparalleled abilities in turning complex ideas into concise and simple-worded phrases or sentences. Complicated information about certain products and services can lead to customer decline; complexity is the enemy of marketing. People have enough things to consider in their lives already, so normally they will not bother cramming more difficult ideas into their heads. Simple statements that get their attention are an essence of professional copywriting; professional copywriters often rely on the power of small words to convey their ideas.

Put The Subject In The Limelight

Great professional copywriters put the product, services or whatever subject they are tasked to promote at the center of attention in their words. Copywriting requires adequate and accurate knowledge of the subject so that the copywriter is acquainted with its characteristics, its strengths and weaknesses; and ultimately know what words and phrases will be used to effectively advance the subject.

Know The Prospective Audience

Professional copywriting always think of ways on how to put the subject into the lives of their prospective audience. Building new and lasting relationships with prospects through the use of words require that copywriters know how their intended audience think and feel. By doing so, copywriters can effectively reach out into the prospects’ decision making processes.

Related to this technique is the ability to bring about familiarity with the target audience or reader. An effective copy can impress trust from other people.

Creativity Is The Name Of The Game

As a professional copywriter, you must invent ways to make your copy unique. Hone your skills at seeing potentially good copy ideas around you and not merely in books or websites. Being creative is the most important quality that a copywriter must possess. Being common and imitative will only bring rejection or even mockery from prospective audience.

People are a fickle lot; to please prospects you must always come up with new concepts. Your clients and their prospects will always open their minds to something they have not seen or heard before.

Be Informative

At the bottom line of every copywriting job is the need to spread information to the public; with a hope that the copy will influence the public’s views regarding the copywriter’s subject. As a professional copywriter, you must capitalize on the people’s clamor to learn new things and to be aware of their surroundings. Being informative, your copy will almost surely gain proper attention from the people.

What Type Of Copywriter Should You Hire?

You need something written to sell your product or service. You turn to the Internet, tap the word ‘copywriter’ into Google and search. Bingo!

Thousands of results, plus a swag of Google Ads to boot. So who do you choose? Is the best copywriter the one who’s at the top of the search pile?

Not necessarily. What they are good at – or someone who’s affiliated with them is good at – is Search Engine Optimisation (SEO). They know the techniques and tricks to get their website to the top of the search engine rankings. These copywriters are called, quite naturally, SEO copywriters.

Do you need a SEO Copywriter?

If you have a website and need it to climb the search engine rankings, you should consider the services of a SEO copywriter.

The SEO copywriter writes your web page text so that it includes specific search terms, known as keywords. He or she will aim for a keyword density of 3-5 per cent. So for every 100 words, your keyword should appear at least 3 times. The art of SEO copywriting is to make it all read smoothly and, more importantly, persuade the reader that your site is worth staying at until they do whatever it is you want them to do.

In addition to writing the text, a good SEO copywriter ensures that other page elements are optimised for search engines. This includes the Title, Description and Keyword tags, as well as alt text and headings.

All this will help your website climb the ranks. But it’s only part of the solution. A major factor in search engine rankings is the number of links around the Internet that lead to your site. There are several strategies to help you achieve this – but that’s another story.

What about a Direct Mail Copywriter?

A Direct Mail Copywriter is more accurately described as a Direct Response Copywriter. This copywriter can produce not only mailings, but also copy for most mediums, whether it be print, TV or radio. Everything he or she writes should be crafted to get a response from the reader, viewer or listener.

Take a look at any successful direct response advertising and you’ll find the copywriter has followed a formula, often referred to as AIDA, which stands for Attention, Interest, Desire, Action. Adding Conviction after Desire can make the advertising work harder.

Building your brand is not the prime focus of the Direct Response Copywriter. But an element of branding can and should be put into all direct response communications, even if it’s only your tag line.

Or do you need a specialist Brand Copywriter?

If you have a recognised brand or intend to build one, the Brand Copywriter can create the kind of ideas and copy that strikes an emotional appeal in the consumer’s mind.

Most global and national brands are built with the help of full service advertising agencies. An agency gives the kind of total approach – planning, strategy, research, media, creative, production – needed to build a brand.

However, hiring a freelance Brand Copywriter can be far more cost-effective. Before the Brand Copywriter starts work, he needs to know exactly what you want your brand to convey. That’s not a problem if your brand already exists, but if you want to create one you’ll need to have done your research.

In addition – and this goes for all advertising – you need to know your proposition for the job your hired copywriter is going to work on. Your proposition is a short statement that gives the single most compelling reason as to why someone should buy your product or service. Failure to produce a well-conceived proposition is the major reason much advertising fails to produce the desired results.

Don’t forget Technical Copywriters

If your product or service is of a highly technical nature then you’ll need a Technical Copywriter to convey its benefits to your target audience. That could mean communicating to other technically literate people, or else turning the techno-language into everyday speak for a wider audience.

When you know what type of copywriter you want, you then need to find one that’s good in his or her particular field. Check copywriting samples first. Any copywriter of merit will have at least a couple of well-known brand names in their portfolio. Does the copy read well? Does it persuade? If so, ring them up and talk to them. If you feel a rapport developing, that’s a good sign you’ve got the right copywriter.

Copywriting – Get Paid, Even As A New Copywriter

If you’d like to develop a great career with unlimited opportunities, look no further than copywriting. It’s ideal for anyone with marketing and/ or writing experience.

Copywriting is a business writing: writing to promote and persuade. It’s been called salesmanship in print, and that’s precisely what it is. I’m often asked by people considering copywriting whether they have the talent for it.

Do you have the talent to become a copywriter? Talent isn’t as important as application. If you enjoy writing, and you’re prepared to practice your skills you can become a copywriter. I should warn you however, that when you start writing copy you’ll never look at advertising in the same way again. You’ll develop a critical eye for what makes good copy and what doesn’t.

Let’s look at the two requirements for copywriting first, and then we’ll discuss how you can get started.

* You enjoy writing

It’s important that you enjoy writing. In your copywriting career you’ll do a lot of it, and if you enjoy it, you’ll be more creative. You’ll also enjoy practicing your skills.

* You’re prepared to practice your skills

Copywriting is fascinating because you get feedback for your writing. That feedback is almost instant in Web copywriting.

As a new copywriter, you’ll get lots of practice when you write copy to promote your own business. If you can sell yourself, you’ll know how to sell others’ goods and services too.

Please notice that I said “practice YOUR skills.” Especially online, there’s a huge tendency to turn out cookie-cutter copy. While modeling your copy on what’s worked in the past will show you structure, it’s fatal to use this as a blueprint for writing copy.

The best copywriters past and present are aware of famous pieces of copy, but they don’t follow them slavishly. Your aim is to lead the read (or listener or viewer) to take action; use your own instincts based on research of your audience and product.

How to Advertise Yourself As a New Copywriter

When you’re just starting out, you have an advantage over an established copywriter. Many clients prefer to work with someone new for a couple of reasons.

Firstly, as a new copywriter, you don’t have a big stable of clients to keep happy, so you can focus on those clients you do have – you’ll get the copy written quickly. This is appealing to clients who’ve worked with copywriters before and are told that their favorite copywriter won’t be able to tackle the job for three months because he’s too busy.

Secondly, new copywriters are less expensive than established pros. While it’s true that you get what you pay for, many people are happy to work with someone new and save money.

As a new copywriter, you’ll charge less than someone who’s been writing for years. You can use these initial jobs for your a portfolio, to help you to get highly paid copywriting gigs as your experience develops.

Therefore, don’t be shy about admitting that you’re new – people will be glad to hire you, for precisely that reason. Go ahead and advertise yourself as a new copywriter.

Here’s a fast way to get started. Write some sample copy: just write some copy either for existing products, or for fictitious products. Then get in touch with a graphics’ design company. They’re always looking for copywriters, and will be glad to give you a try.

Zazou Marketing writes copy that grabs attention, conveys benefits, alleviates distrust, creates interest, and closes the deal. In effect, we act a little like your top salesperson. Zazou Marketing offers the following services: Effective article writing and marketing, freelance writer marketing, marketing communications writer, marketing writer, copywriter, freelance copywriter, advertising copywriter, marketing copywriter, copywriting, professional copywriter, content editor, content editing, freelance writing, freelance writer.

One of the biggest misconceptions about copywriting is that anyone who is good at writing is naturally good at copywriting. The truth is that while you do need to be good at writing in order to be good at copywriting, the reverse is not true. You do not need to be good at copywriting to be good at writing. Huh?!

Let’s break it down: The misconception is largely based on the fact that copywriting is a bit of a foreign concept to most people. But if you’re in the business world, you probably come across copywriting every day of your working life. That’s because copywriting is any business writing that is used to sell, promote or market a company’s services or products. So, copywriting projects are simply any marketing communications—such as direct mail, ads, a website, newsletters, articles or press releases—that a company produces.

But what exactly are the common threads between such diverse copywriting projects? For one, there is an informational aspect to each of these copywriting projects. However, there is more to it than simply delivering information. There is always a greater purpose to the piece. Of course, the specific intention of a copywriting project varies, but, in general, copywriting projects are meant to attract customers and make sales. Remember that not all copywriting projects need to actually close a sale—although, it’s great if they do. But all copywriting projects do need to move your business toward a goal, whether creating a relationship, fueling interest, attracting leads, etc. Simply put, copywriting projects need to contribute to your business objectives.

There are a few typical ways that companies traditionally use copywriting. For one, direct response communications ask the reader to respond right away. This type of copywriting project takes many forms, whether direct mail, an advertisement, a website or a brochure.

Another common use for copywriting is for public relations. This indirect communication establishes credibility and gets you in the public eye through articles in magazines, newspapers, television, radio, journals, etc.

Whatever the method, all copywriting projects will be more effective if they entice, influence and create desire—hence why good copywriting needs to be well-written. But since a good novel need not entice, influence and create desire, not all writers need be good at copywriting.

What Is A Copywriter And What Does A Copywriter Do?

A copywriter is a person tasked to write the text used for advertisements in magazines, newspapers, television, radio and other kinds of media. A copywriter may also be assigned to come up with the words for press releases, informational or promotional pamphlets, and other promotional materials. A copywriter may also be tasked to rewrite or edit existing materials. Thus, a copywriter’s job is a very flexible and potentially exciting career in the wide world of advertising and marketing.

Where Does a Copywriter Work?

A copywriter usually works in advertising firms, retail stores, and marketing companies in a metropolitan area. The working environment of a copywriter is usually found to be quite hectic, which makes creativity under pressure necessary. Advertising is known to be a very fast-paced field where many crises can suddenly occur. A copywriter is usually pressured by short deadline and successive assignments daily. A copywriter is often asked for several revisions at the last minute. This job is therefore not for the weak-hearted or the unengaged.

How Fulfilling Is a Copywriter’s Job?

Novice and assistant copywriters usually start off with an annual salary of about ,000 to ,000 working it up to some ,000 when they become full-pledged. A senior copywriter may eventually earn some 0,000 a year and about 5,000 if he or she becomes promoted as copywriting chief. A copywriter has the potential to later become creative director and earn as much as 0,000 annually.

A copywriter, like most other workers, is usually required to work 40 hours a week, but it is usually expected to have a lot of overtime in this career. Fortunately overtime is compensated accordingly. A copywriter becomes most busy during key times depending on the nature of their firm’s trade – department store copywriters work most during holiday and sale seasons, advertising copywriters work a lot during big advertising campaigns.

Many copywriters today are privileged with profit-sharing schemes afforded by their company. A copywriter also gets the usual benefits such as paid vacations and holidays, pension plans, health care, hospitalization insurance and life insurance. Copywriting can be quite a rewarding job.

How to Become a Copywriter?

A copywriter is expected to be skilled in coming up with great advertising ideas as well as putting them to paper in a very articulate and effective manner. A copywriter should also have a good grasp of layout and typography because visuals are also very important in advertising.

Most advertising agencies require aspiring copywriters to have a solid background in the field, preferably working for at least three years in the business. Copywriters are of course expected to have obtained a college degree, usually in liberal arts, communications, business management, and marketing. A lot of copywriters take college courses that combine creative writing with marketing and this prepares them well for a good copywriting career.

To get hired as a copywriter, one has to be able to combine a solid formal education with an active writing experience. Most copywriters not only had degrees in communications or business, but they actually wrote while studying whether in school publications or community newsletters. A good idea is to present well-written works such as essays and articles.

Are there Opportunities for Growth for a Copywriter?

There is much room for growth for a copywriter. Copywriters working in department stores can become chief of copywriting or fashion coordinator and work their way to become division manager and even advertising chief. Copywriters working in advertising agencies may be promoted as copy supervisor, advancing to copy chief, and then account executive, and ultimately to creative directorship. A copywriter’s job can indeed be quite fulfilling.

In the growing world of business and advertising a copywriter can find a great home with many opportunities for earning and career expansion. Some people undermine the work of copywriters merely because their job seems to be placed at the bottom of the bureaucracy. However a copywriter with the right determination and skill can definitely work his or her way to the top the way their more business-oriented peers do.

Copywriting can be a very fulfilling career for those who have the right skills for the job. If you are full of bright ideas and know how to write well then you might want to try out becoming a copywriter.

Information Marketing With a 7 Dollar Twist

In early February 2007 a new “system” was added to the Internet marketing mix. Created by Jonathan Leger, a programmer/marketer from Dallas, the system continues to yield results for those who apply it. But does it fit your online business model?

The original report, which has now sold thousands of copies, explains the simple system:

- Create a report

- Sell the report

- Make it *very* easy and attractive for others to sell your report

- Provide a one-time offer to increase your immediate revenue

- Repeat

On the surface it sounds like a traditional information marketing model. But there are a few twists that make the 7 Dollar model unique.

1. While you can create the report from scratch, it could just as easily be one of those resale rights or private label rights ebooks you have sitting idle on your hard drive.

2. People who purchase your report can immediately sell it with no special instruction and no affiliate registration.

3. They keep 100% of the sales price.

4. You get the new customer’s name and email.

5. The 7 dollar scripts, which are included in the original ebook, put the whole operation on autopilot.

As a result of this system a cottage industry of new listing sites, new template formats, and experienced web designers who specialize in setting up 7 dollar sites has been created. And there’s no end in sight!

While the system is attractive, it has its drawbacks. For one, you either need to be fairly comfortable with HTML or you need to have someone who is. Installing the scripts is relatively easy. Getting all the pieces to work flawlessly is more complex and time-consuming.

Second, as would be expected there is a proliferation of 7 dollar products in the “making money” category. Yet while those seem to be the most popular and more profitable, there are people making money from other topics. One site lists over 400 products using the 7 dollar system, in 18 different categories

Third, you are essentially giving away your front-end profits in order to build a list. While this won’t hurt if you have a profitable “backend” to your product funnel, it does present a dilemma for newbies. After all, which do you need more – in revenue or a new subscriber? And could you purchase a new subscriber for less than with another traffic method?

So given all of that, should the 7 Dollar System be a part of your online business? It all depends…

You can easily use the scripts to automate your sales process, particularly if you have a one-time-offer that converts well.

You can refer people on your list (or via other traffic methods) to the 7 dollar products that you recommend – putting the in your PayPal account immediately.

You can start making profits or getting subscribers from those “dead” resale products sitting on your hard drive.

You can even build your list using this method. Just be aware of the “cost” per subscriber.

It’s all up to you and how you want to take advantage of this “new” online tactic.

Problem 3: Delaying the Decision

I hung out with a friend for most of the seminar. He is aware that I follow the “60 second rule”.

That rule is simple: take no longer than 60 seconds to make a decision.

So we’d go out to eat with a group of seminar attendees. It’d take them ten minutes to figure out where to go, another ten minutes to organize the carpools, and ten minutes more of bullshitting before we left the hotel.

In the time I could’ve cooked a meal from scratch.

Whenever either my friend or I would notice someone hesitating, we’d turn to each other and

say “60 second rule”.

You wouldn’t believe how many times we said that during the seminar.

It absolutely blows my mind how people get comfortable hesitating. I have conditioned myself to take action… not hesitate… because I know that taking action is a lot better thing to do than hesitating when it comes to making money.

Delaying the decision is worse than making the wrong decision. You can usually fix bad decisions.

You can’t fix indecision.

Problem 2: Not Understanding the “Point of Overwhelm”

The fact is I know exactly where I’m going with my business. I’m only interested in ideas that will get me there faster, or enhance what I’m already doing by making it easier or more enjoyable.

Learning how to use social media marketing from scratch will make the process longer, not shorter. Sure, people make millions off of it. But I’m not going to pretend there isn’t a massive learning curve to it.

There is.

One I don’t want to attempt, because I’d have to completely reinvent my business to incorporate it.

Not for me.

But most people at seminars leave with pages and pages of notes, almost a whole notebook full. I used to be one of them. You know how many times I’ve used notes like that?

Twice.

Let’s be honest with ourselves. Do we really do anything with the notes when we get home? So why clutter up your life anymore?

There is a point of overwhelm.

That’s when you have too much noise in your head. That’s usually caused by trying to take in 20 hours of content in three days. 20 condensed hours covering thousands of hours of experience.

When you leave yourself open to all possibilities, you end up choosing none. If I were starting over again from scratch, here’s what I’d do.

I’d go to the seminars until I heard a presentation that completely blew me away and got me excited.

Then, if that speaker had a course, I’d buy.

Then, I’d lock myself in the hotel room for the rest of the seminar. I’d devour that information.

By the end of the seminar, I’d already have an action plan on using that information, and have already completed several steps in it.

That means no more attending any other presentations. I’d only break at night to go network with other people, to develop mutually prosperous relationships for helping each other achieve our goals.

If I was too shy to network, then I’d just stay in the hotel room and act, act, act.

By the flight home, I’d have already put in 25 hours of work into my new internet business.

The momentum would them carry over to when I got home. With all my spare time, I’d know exactly what I should be doing. And that’s all I would be doing.

That’s not sexy though.

In fact, it kind of sounds like hard work, doesn’t it? That’s because it is…in a relative sense. You’re going to have to dig in for a bit. But trust me. My work days are very easy these days.

I don’t have to answer to someone else and I don’t have to put up with idiots.

It was totally worth those few months of solid, dedicated, action taking.

Here’s how you beat “the point of overwhelm”. First realize it exists. Second, whenever you feel overwhelmed, stop thinking. Overwhelm only comes from thinking too much.

What do you do instead of think?

Take action. Just go with something. Anything is better than staying in a state of overwhelm.

What You Need To Know About Copywriting

Copywriting is basically the term used in referring to the process of writing the text that publicize a business, person, an idea or an opinion. A copy may be used on its own, such as a script for a television or radio advertisement, or in conjunction with other kinds of media as in the text for websites and promotional materials. The main purpose of copywriting is to create text that would persuade an audience to act by patronizing a particular product, service or viewpoint. Copywriting may also be used to sway an audience from a certain notion, or belief.

What Are Examples of Copywriting?

People encounter products of copywriting everyday through slogans, mail advertisements, jingle lyrics, website content, commercial scripts headlines, taglines, press releases or other text that are used in marketing and advertising. Copywriting can be manifested in billboards, print ads, catalogs, brochures, websites, letters, email, post cards, commercials and other forms of advertising media.

Where is Copywriting Done?

Copywriting is usually done in retail stores, advertising companies and marketing firms in a metropolitan area. The copywriting work environment is one characterized with hectic schedules that requires its workers to perform their tasks creatively under pressure. Marketing and advertising is notorious for its fast-paced nature where crises are already considered a normal occurrence. Copywriting is typified by successive assignment with immediate deadlines everyday and constant calls for eleventh-hour revisions. Copywriting is therefore a field for the dynamic, creative and bold.

How Rewarding is Copywriting?

Copywriters usually start off as assistants who earn as much as ,000 to ,000 a year, gradually increasing to around ,000 once they become really adept into copywriting. Eventually they can be promoted to senior positions, earning about 0,000 and then to copywriting chief, earning around 5,000. Copywriters may also ultimately become creative director, earning as much as 0,000 a year.

Copywriting usually requires a minimum of 40 hours of work a week with expected overtime during peak seasons and important occasions. Overtime if of course compensated correspondingly. Copywriting requirement of firms usually increase in certain occasions such as the holidays for department stores and during large advertising campaigns for advertising firms.

There are usually many benefits included in the compensation package for copywriting. Profit-sharing is increasingly becoming a popular practice among firms. Copywriters are also given benefits like paid holidays or vacations, health care, hospitalization, life insurance and retirement. As such copywriting can be considered to be quite a rewarding job.

What are the Qualifications for Copywriting?

Copywriting requires a lot of creativity and the skill of putting great ideas into paper in very stylish and effective ways. Copywriting also requires a good understanding of layout and typography as visuals are yet another essential part of advertising and marketing.

Most retail and advertising firms require copywriting applicants to have a solid credentials in the field, with preference to those who have worked for at least three years in the business or a related trade. While copywriting is usually not found as a degree of concentration in most colleges and universities, a lot of copywriters take degrees in liberal arts, business management, marketing and communications. Copywriting also benefit from creative writing and thus there is a good number of copywriters coming from a creative writing and literature background.

Copywriting necessitates a good combination of solid formal education with a good writing experience. A lot of people who end up in copywriting have had not only degrees in business or communications but also experience writing in their community or school publications. Companies usually ask their copywriting applicants to submit sample essays and articles, especially published ones.

Are there Advancement Opportunities in Copywriting?

Copywriting offers a lot of room for growth and development. In department and retail stores copywriters can become copywriting chief or fashion coordinator, and then division manager or chief of advertising. In advertising firms, a copywriter may work his or her way up as a copy supervisor, then copywriting chief, then account executive, and finally creative director. Copywriting can indeed be fulfilling for those who are determined.

Copywriting can be a good career to take for those who have the right skills and interest. It is an essential component of marketing and advertising and is thus a potentially endless mine of opportunities.

“Is This Online Information Marketing Business Model Right For You? – Step 3″

In these series of articles I’m writing, I want to specifically talk about the 8 Steps to Starting Your Own Online Information Marketing Business. Because this is by far one of the only types of businesses out there that is still generating millions of dollars and doing it via the internet.

Now when I say develop new streams of revenue, I’m not talking about adding one or more network marketing type businesses to your belt so you just have more to sell that may or may not be at all related to the type of business you’re already in. Not that there’s anything wrong with network marketing models but I just wanted to make that distinction; I’m not talking about that kind of income stream.

I’m talking about leveraging your expertise, knowledge, systems, services, information, etc. into products and services you can create basically one time and then sell over and over again via the internet.

If you’re already in an information marketing business you still may want to pay attention because I can almost guarantee that you will be negligent in one, two or even maybe three of the steps I plan to cover. Changing these things in your business could generate 10’s of 1,000’s of dollars in your pocket if you tweak a few things.

We know millions of people are still spending money. The question is how do you get a piece of that pie?

Well, Step 3 in this process is Figuring Out What to Sell and How to Price It.

Previously in step 2 I talked about choosing the business model that fits the type of lifestyle you want to lead. So after doing that there will be specific types of products, services or programs that fit that model (others will not).

So, what will you sell?

- Will you sell yourself and your time? Will you sell hourly, monthly or annual coaching or consulting services, packages or programs?

o If so, how much will you charge per hour? per month, etc.?

o Will you definitely charge “what you’re worth” or will you charge less thinking that people won’t pay what you think you are worth? Be careful undercharging or under valuing yourself. I say you charge what you’re worth and then find the people who agree and will pay you that fee.

o What is included in your services – call in hours, 1on1 calls, group Q&A calls, in person meetings, emailing, critiquing, resources?

o What can you also offer as a bonus to get people to sign up?

- Will you sell your information and expertise? You can put almost anything you know about into an information marketing product these days. Of course you do want to make sure people want what you’re selling so doing surveys and research first is critical.

o You can write an article, read it on a teleclass for a product, then record it too and you have an audio recording or CD. Transcribe the call and edit with the article and maybe beef up a bit and you have the ebook to go with the CD!

o Or record yourself talking about a topic, transcribe it and you create the product – it can be that simple.

o There are numerous other ways to create products to sell – talk to me for more ideas!!

o So, how much is your expertise worth? Well, look around at other similar products, compare price and content then start somewhere and possibly test out different prices or survey an audience to see what they would spend. Typically for an information marketing product you can charge 10 times the amount it actually costs to produce if you’re selling a hard copy product. If you’re selling a digitally delivered product, you can do it for less and focus on volumn sales.

- Will you hold live events, retreats, workshops, seminars or other in person meeting? You can sell those one by one or in a series and if you record those or videotape those then you have a home study kit!

o Pricing for events is hard to generalize. Some bigger 3+ day events typically go for 00, others can go for less. It depends on your goals of your event and what else you have to sell at the event too – where else you can make money….

- You can do a combination of these things too; I do them all! But you do typically want to start with ONE thing first, then add to it and so on. Now, granted you can’t just plop a webpage up or blog and think people will come and buy right away. You still have to set up systems, your support team, build a responsive list and manage ongoing marketing campaigns for any of these things to sell properly.

I’ve done this and taught hundreds of my clients how to do this and you can do it too. I’d love to show you how!!

When I changed my entire business model to this information marketing model I immediately got back 50 hours per week that I was spending working on all my client’s work or busywork that I now spend on my own business and personal development.

There are 5 more steps to starting your own Online Information Marketing Business and so I will bring you more later…..

Now IS THE TIME to take action in your business. It’s time to think bigger, dream bigger, make bigger goals and take bigger leaps of faith in order to truly get the business and life of your dreams.

Problem 1: Not Realizing it’s ALL About Making Money

We had just gotten back from dinner. One of the attendees there showed me his website. The first question I asked was “How much money is this website making you?”

He stuttered. He stammered. He started to explain that this website was more about SEO than making money.

Wrong. It’s all about making money. If you’re doing something that isn’t making you money, stop it.

Now, understand this. It’s okay to admit you don’t make any money. Time and again people lied to me telling me they were making ‘a few thousand’ a month (or whatever), but their body language told otherwise.

And that’s a huge problem. They equate making money or not with their ego.

Better to admit you aren’t making money now than to try to hide it. What message is that sending to your unconscious? It’s sending a message that it’s okay and excusable to continue with your current behavior.

And if you’re goal is to make money, then it is not excusable.

I do not think less of a person who isn’t making any money online. I do think less of a person who doesn’t want to admit it though, or who lies about it. The fact is, I can’t really help those people because their ego will get in the way.

It’s when you make it excusable to do stuff that doesn’t make you money, that’s when the problems occur. You’re justifying behavior that is counter productive to your end goal.

Jim Rohn says “affirm the truth” and I agree. It’s only when you look at the situation with accurate thinking can you formulate a plan based in reality. Otherwise, you’ll come up with excuses.

People are either really good at making money or really good at making excuses, but never good at both.

Pick one.

3 Simple Solutions For Online Marketing Information Overload

When you realize the potential for growing your business using online marketing, the next step is to learn what to do and how to do it. This is where most people get stuck.

The good news is there is a plethora of free information on the internet about online marketing strategies. The bad news is there is a plethora of free online marketing information on the internet, which, for most people, can quickly lead to information overload.

It starts innocently enough with searching on a specific strategy such as pay-per-click, or article directories, or online video, or … But one thing can quickly lead to another thing, and pretty soon you’re r
eading about 20 different online lead generation strategies.

In the course of your wanderings, you stumble on countless blogs with hundreds of tips and strategies. And it seems like everyone has a report or email series that will cure all your problems, and they’re all free, so what the heck, you sign up for all of them.

Before long, you spend your days reading email and blogs, and wandering aimlessly around the internet, trying to figure out how it all ties together, or searching in vain for the magic blue pill you need to boost your business, the silver bullet. Pretty soon weeks go by, then months, and you still haven’t implemented anything. Your inbox is overflowing. You have hundreds of useful bookmarks.

You have tons of information swirling in your brain but you haven’t added one nickle to the bottom line of your business. You have thousands of emails, and hundreds of notes and downloaded files. You have so much information you don’t know where to find specific information when you need it.

I confess, not too long ago this was me. The engineer in me wanted to know everything before I got started, and wanted to get everything perfect the first time. As I encounter other people learning internet marketing for their business, I find a large percentage are also stuck in information overload land. I’m happy to report that I have been “cured” of internet marketing overloaditis.

Just follow these 3 simple guidelines and watch your income grow, not just your headache.

1. Just say no. Spend enough time figuring out which mentors you relate to and want to learn from and then just say no to everyone and everything else. Get off email lists and be selective about which blogs you read.

2. Get organized. Setup a file folder for each different strategy such as social networking, online video, PPC, article directories, etc. Create the same directory structure in your email system. Setup a physical binder with identical tabs. When you get valuable information, file it in the appropriate folder for easy retrieval in the future. Print out the important information and put it in your binder. Now when you need information on a specific topic you know where to find it.

3. Just do it. You don’t have to be perfect. Read carefully because this is the most important step. Pick one online marketing method, and put it into practice. Focus on this method and make it your highest priority. Once you have it mastered you can then add a second method. Prioritize tasks related to generating income at the top of your task list, and only spend time wandering around on the internet AFTER you have completed your income producing actions for the day and only if you have enough willpower to stop after a specific amount of time.

You will learn so much more by taking action it’s amazing. The heardest part can be the first step. Just do whatever you have to do to take that first step and watch how much easier the next step is.

And now I would like to invite you to claim your FREE ACCESS to “15 Ways To Grow Your Business Online”. Just click here to send me a blank email and you’ll start receiving valuable information that can help you get more traffic to your website or blog and make more money from your visitors.

Information Marketing: Using Bonuses to Entice Upgrades

Membership upgrades are a helpful way to gain more profits for the products you give. I have two strategies that can help with getting the interest you need to add your upgrades.

As the President of the Information Marketing Association, I host monthly coaching calls for info-marketers who have questions and are trying to launch their infopreneur business. Here is a question from Doran in British Columbia, Canada about using bonuses to encourage members to upgrade. Since this is a common question, I decided to prepare an article about this challenge to help you.

Offering different levels of membership for your product is a good way to get people to want to pay more to view what your products may offer. Bringing some super bribes into the mix to get them to upgrade to the higher levels will help your business bring in more profits by offering more products or services more a higher level of support. Here are two reasons why this offer would help your company’s profits increase.

There are two primary reasons why people want to upgrade their membership to a higher level. The first one is the offer of a big bonus. If you are offering much more product for just a little more money, your members will see the benefit in getting more for you money. The second reason members upgrade is to find out exactly what is at the next level that they might want. Members will ask themselves, “What is at the next level that I really, really want?”

An important factor to consider is scarcity. If you only offer a certain amount of bonuses, and tell your members, it is only available to the first so many of people that respond the interest and response to the offer will increase. Using the element of limited value can help encourage your members to respond right away to the offer so that they may obtain the benefits before the benefits run out. By offering bribes, your business memberships will have more interest if you focus on using more products for the money and utilize the element of scarcity.

There have never been greater, more diverse, more lucrative opportunities for everyone—experienced, successful entrepreneurs to rank beginners—in the field of information marketing. If you can name a topic, there is a market for providing information about it. People buy information about almost everything—from hobbyist topics like dog training, to business topics like how to sell over the telephone, to self-improvement topics like fitness walking. The key is to find a responsive market and then package information that customers want in convenient forms such as DVD’s, books, eBooks, CD’s, magazines, websites, teleseminars, webinars, coaching programs, seminars, and conferences. Watch a free video revealing several info-marketers created their products and became infopreneurs at www.Info-Marketing.org.

Information Marketing: Taking the Next Step After a Seminar or Conference

As an Information Marketer, it is important to know when it is right to take the next step. During a conference or seminar, you have the best possible situation to present that step. You already know that if the people have devoted their time and money to listen to you, then they are genuinely interested in going forward. They just want to see how the infopreneur is going to put the information out there. They all want to know what they are going to get out of the information. So make them want more.

As the president of the Information Marketing Association, I host a monthly coaching call for info-marketers who have questions and are trying to launch their infopreneur business. Here is a question from Bill Goff in Alabama. Bill’s question is in regards to a seminar where he is offering a variety of different aspects. Since this is a common question, I have decided to prepare an article about this challenge to help you.

When designing a conference or seminar, it is important that you design it so that there is a comfortable atmosphere for your viewers. Remember, they will be sitting there for many hours on end. You will additionally want to plan an opportunity for a social session for the viewers. This will allow them to ask one-on-one questions and that provides the ability for you to gather more information on what they are looking for in your program.

The reason why you will want to do this is to break the monotony. You do not want your viewers to fall asleep in their chairs. You want them to be excited about what the information is going to do for them.

During your seminar or conference, let them know that you have an exciting prospect for them, but space is limited. This will give them an opportunity to get more excited and fight for those limited spaces. Be sure that you mention this opportunity multiple times to remind them. Remember, the average person needs to hear something three times before it cements into their minds.

When the time is right, you can present the coaching plan or the next level in the plan. Be sure to let them know what to expect from you and how you are going to go about the process. If done correctly, you will have the results you are looking for. Additionally, be sure to address the one-on-one questions they have provided. People love to know that you have honestly listened to them.

There have never been greater, more diverse, more lucrative opportunities for everyone- experienced, successful entrepreneurs to rank beginners-in the field of information marketing. If you can name a topic, there is a market for providing information about it. People buy information about almost everything-from hobbyist topics like dog training, to business topics like how to sell over the telephone, to self-improvement topics like fitness walking. The key is to find a responsive market and then package the information that customers want in convenient forms such as DVD’s, books, eBooks, cd’s, magazines, websites, teleseminars, webinars, coaching programs, seminars and conferences. Watch a free video revealing several how several info marketers created their products and became infopreneurs at www.Info-Marketing.org

When you are short on time and money, generating a high value product to sell to a few clients is a way to generate some fast cash. The good thing is you are only limited by the quality of the product or service you provide.

As the President of the Information Marketing Association, I host a monthly coaching call for info-marketers who have questions and are trying to launch their infopreneur business. Here is a question from Nina in Las Vegas, Nevada about transforming online newsletters into a mailing. Since this is a common question, I decided to prepare an article about this challenge to help you.

Being pressed for time is a common occurrence in our day to day lives. I have a lot of people tell me, “Robert, I can’t imagine how you get all this done.” If this is how you feel about your own business, what your feeling is very normal and it will only get worse as your business grows. You will discover that there will be a lot more opportunities than you will be able to fulfill.

The first recommendation I have for those of you who have very little time to work with, is to create a product or program with a high transaction value. Rather than having a 50 dollar product that you are trying to market to 300 people, try and create a product that is somewhere between 0 and ,500 that you market to 10 or 15 people. It is much easier to make an actual difference in your life by having 10 people paying ,500 a month than it would be trying to find 500 people paying 0 a month to have the same effect on your business income.

You don’t have to worry about the price you charge for your high value product. There are a lot of service providers who make a lot less money than their clients do, but they still charge the price for their service. The only barrier to what you can charge is how much you can deliver for your customers. If you’re able to deliver 0 worth of value, even if it’s the first 0 you’ve ever gotten, that’s still 0 worth of value to your customer. There is no one who will be checking your tax return to see whether it is the only 0 or if it is one of many.

There have never been greater, more diverse, more lucrative opportunities for everyone—experienced, successful entrepreneurs to rank beginners—in the field of information marketing. If you can name a topic, there is a market for providing information about it.
When you’re new to an industry without a lot of experience or credibility, determining a price for the service you are providing can be a tricky procedure. Luckily, there are three secrets to charging more for your products.

As the President of the Information Marketing Association, I get questions from info-marketers who have questions and are trying to launch their infopreneur business in our members’ forum. Here is a question from one of our members in Las Vegas, Nevada about how to charge more for your product even with limited experience. Since this is a common question, I decided to prepare an article about this challenge to help you.

The first secret to charging more for your product, is simply that, charge more. You should avoid selling yourself cheap because it ruins your ability to over-deliver for your clients and limits how much you can do for marketing. What you think you can charge, you may be able to multiply it several times. You have to make sure you always over deliver on your promises, but don’t make promises for cheap prices. All that does is over extend yourself and create stress in your life.

The second secret for charging more is finding the right niche. Rather than trying to be the general guru in marketing, be the person who generates traffic to websites and websites that generate leads within niches. Try and think about what industries have money and are willing to pay for leads, and what industries your best customers are with. Specialize and get an understanding of a certain type of customer and then you’ll never have to worry about competitors again.

The third secret to charging more is to generate more leads yourself. The reason people can charge more is because they are marketing more. They have more people coming to their websites and that increases their chances that someone will show up and jump at the chance to hire them. For you, this means finding out what you can do to increase the flow of your best customers coming to your website. You have to decide what you can offer them to come and what you can offer that will get them engaged.

Always remember, it’s not about you or even about your product; it’s all about your customer. What secrets, insights or problems you have solved they desperately need and want. Once you know that, it’ll be a lot easier to deliver what they want and charge premium prices.

Here are 16 more copywriting guidelines that go a bit deeper. These are just guidelines. 1. Remember, Benefits come first, then features – Features are the things about your product or service: like It has 300 horsepower, or it contains 15 special vitamins. Or Open 24hours Benefits are inherently about the prospect. The things he or she will get if they get your product or use your service. So when you talk about benefits, you’re talking about how the prospect will lose weight, get more energy, re-grow his hair, make money, save money, or find a way to kill his mother-in-law without getting caught. The secret of the most effective copy is that it leads with benefits, and validates with features. 2. Just speaking in the prospects language and focusing on the benefits to him or her is about 70% of effective copy. Yet most copywriters don’t do even this. This stems from most people’s misunderstanding of benefits. They think a 300 horsepower engine is a benefit. But it’s not. Fast acceleration and a feeling of exhilaration is the benefit. They believe the fact a business is 25 years old is a benefit. It’s not. The fact that the business has survived many storms and will likely be around to deliver service and honor a warranty is a benefit. It’s critical that you really understand the difference between these two things. 3. Create a compelling offer by telling the whole story using word pictures, metaphors or stories to highlight the problem they have, or the solution your …

What is Internet Marketing?

Internet marketing is still a complete mystery to a large majority of Internet users. For many users, internet marketing is seen as some foreign area of the web, populated with silly get-rich-quick schemes and unsavory characters ready to rip off the innocent and uninformed consumer at the click of a mouse.

In reality, Internet marketing is populated mainly with hard working professionals promoting and selling high quality brand products by many of the world’s Top 500 companies.

Worldwide there are now over a billion Internet users, representing one large global consumer base or marketplace. The total amount of goods sold online has been steadily increasing each year as the Internet gains in both popularity and familiarity. Studies have shown people shop online because of lower prices, a wider selection of products, easier comparison shopping, and many just prefer not having to travel to stores to make a purchase.

Still Internet marketing has gotten a raw deal.

If you mention to any group of professionals that you’re an Internet Marketer and that you work full time on the Internet… you will receive some very skeptical looks and more than one arched eyebrow of disbelief.

Regardless of this lingering skepticism, Internet marketing has become a viable alternative for many disgruntled professionals dissatisfied with their working hours or conditions. It has become a viable alternative for many people from all walks of life. From the college student to the bored housewife to the retired doctor… all are enjoying a part time or full time income from the comfort of their homes.

And since the Internet is now practically available to everyone, anywhere in the world – Internet marketing is a level playing field. There are many forms of Internet marketing. There are many online business models you can follow. There are countless ways to earn a good honest income from the Internet. Which path you take will be largely determined by research, work habits, and the time you are willing to put forth.

Here’s a quick rundown of the most popular forms of Internet Marketing:

1. The Brick and Mortar Store Online. Most major companies and retail stores have created online versions of their brick and mortar businesses. Even if consumers don’t buy online, many use these sites for gathering product information before buying in the real world. A factor many savvy businesses are exploiting in their overall marketing strategies.

2. Online Services. Many service industries have moved online, everything from travel to banking to dating! Again, the Internet can be a profitable extension for any service company.

3.Internet Gurus… Internet marketing has a whole history of pioneers who have forged the methods and techniques of marketing online – opt-in lists, mini-sites, article marketing, pay-per-click advertising, joint ventures… a brief history populated with such names as John Reese, Marlon Sanders, Ralph Wilson, Yanik Silver, Corey Rudl, Ken Evoy and countless others.

A whole new industry has grown around ‘How-to’ market online, info products, workshops and web seminars – teaching people how to market on the Internet. A marketer creating his own product can prove very productive – as seen by John Reese’s 2004 launch of Traffic Secrets, which earned over a million dollars in one day. (Without a penny of paid advertising!)

4. Online Advertising and Pay-Per-Click advertising such as those offered by Google Adwords and others, presents another viable marketing route. Keywords (the exact words typed into a search engine) fuel a large portion of the web’s activity. Keyword marketing has become a major driving force behind most of the economic transactions on the web. This is a very lucrative sector for those Internet marketers who know exactly what they’re doing.

Then there is the whole section of SEO experts and consultants who command high prices for positioning companies or products in the top positions on the major search engines. Acquiring organic Top 10 search results will greatly determine the profitability of your online product or company.

5. Affiliate Marketing. One of the least understood, yet one of the most profitable forms of Internet marketing is affiliate marketing. An online marketer can join any affiliate program and promote its products or services on the Internet. You market the products, find customers for the company and receive a commission for each sale you make from your marketing efforts. These commissions can run anywhere from 2% to over 75%. One affiliate click can earn you anywhere from a few cents to several hundred dollars.

Major third party affiliate programs or companies such as Commission Junction, Clickbank, LinkShare, Amazon, Shareasale… acts as a brokerage or go-between representing thousands of Top Brand companies such as Sony, Apple, Dell… to online affiliate marketers. Marketers can join a program such as Commission Junction or LinkShare and be able to promote and market hundred of top quality products or services online. They can consolidate their affiliate marketing through these third party programs.

Perhaps the most common business model for the majority of online marketers is the last example, or a combination of advertising and affiliate sales. Many work-from-home professionals have adopted this business model. They have created a site or sites on the topic that interests them and of which they have or have gained some expert knowledge.

Once these sites become established and gathering a large amount of targeted web traffic each day, making a nice income can only be a matter of putting the Google Adsense code on their pages and placing a few appropriate affiliate links on their sites.

The more traffic these marketers deliver to their sites, the more income they earn. The more unique content they create, the more income they earn. The more web sites they design, the more income they earn.

What many people outside of the web marketing field fail to realize, the Internet is a 24/7/365 business. The Internet is always on and working for you. It is automatically producing income for you 24 hours of the day, while you’re sleeping, while you’re enjoying a nice meal with friends, or even while you’re on vacation.

Internet marketing can provide you with a lifestyle that is totally liberating – you can live and work anywhere in the world. You can be your own boss, set your own hours and work from the comfort of your own home. Plus your whole online Internet business can be automated so it basically runs itself.

Internet marketing is totally flexible. You can adjust your workload to suit your own work habits. Internet marketing is scalable, once you have learned how to make your first dollar; it is only a simple matter of repeating and scaling up what you did to earn that dollar. Computers and the Internet make it just as easy to handle a thousand sales as it is to handle one sale.

As Internet marketing becomes better known, it will gradually earn more and more respect. It will become a well recognized profession that many will aspire to and follow as a life long career. Mainly because Internet marketing will give you the freedom rarely seen in any other profession.

It offers you mobility, a high standard of living, and a working environment that can’t be beat. It gives you the freedom to follow your own interests and hobbies; all the while turning those interests into viable revenue streams that supports the lifestyle of your own choosing.

When it is all said and done , earning a living just doesn’t get any better than this.

In marketing, a physical document is usually a more personal and direct manner of sending information to a client. When you have an online database of clients, it is often useful to convert your online marketing into a database of mailing addresses.

As the President of the Information Marketing Association, I host a monthly coaching call for info-marketers who have questions and are trying to launch their infopreneur business. Here is a question from Ted in LaHoya, California about transforming online newsletters into a mailing. Since this is a common question, I decided to prepare an article about this challenge to help you.

Back in 2006, the internet information marketers began to realize that although they had a great run sending out emails, the lists they used were waning. There were a lot of marketers who decided to try and convert their online clients to a mailing list. One way to help encourage online clients to give out their mailing address is to create a product that will interest them. For example, one information marketer who did this was Chris Pizo. He came up with the audio program that he knew his clients would just love and he offered to send it out to them for free. Of course it didn’t encourage all of them, but it encouraged a huge number to go ahead give him their full address to send the free CD. It doesn’t have to be a free CD though. It could be a free CD or a free report. It could be any thing you would like. But then it becomes something that is kind of a headline for one of your next emails. It is all about how this free product is going to be available and all they have to do to get it, is to click on a link and give you their mailing address.

You don’t have to give up on your email clientele. It really is not all that expensive to reformat your offline newsletter and stick it online, even if it’s brief or converted into articles. Regardless, you are going to want to continue tending to your email list. Email does have a much lower perceived value, and a much lower emotional attachment than something received in the mail. In the end, the goal is to create an emotional response, which is really trust. This is accomplished much easier through mailings rather than email.

The key is to find a responsive market and then package information that customers want in convenient forms such as DVD’s, books, e-books, CD’s, magazines, websites, teleseminars, webinars, coaching programs, seminars, and conferences.

What Are the Different Types of Affiliate Marketing Programs

Affiliate marketing programs has never been as popular before as it is today. Why? There can be a number of reasons. The most probable reason, however, could be the fact that the benefits of affiliate marketing have become clearer to a lot of people now than they were before.

Today, both the merchants and the affiliates can see clearly that affiliate marketing can work for both of them. The merchant sees affiliate marketing today as the chance to advertise their products at a lower cost. The affiliates, on the other hand, sees affiliate marketing as an easy way of earning profits online by doing what they like most, and that is by creating websites.

Just as the popularity of affiliate marketing has shifted into greater heights, so has the people’s outlook about it changed. No longer is affiliate marketing considered today as an alternative method for the merchant to advertise his products, or as a source of additional income for the affiliates. For merchants and affiliates alike, affiliate marketing is now considered as a main source of profits and revenues.

So the question now is what type of affiliate marketing will work best for you? Are all affiliate marketing programs the same? Are the benefits the same? Or are there affiliate marketing programs that work better than the others?

There are actually different types or classes of affiliate marketing, and the number of types will depend on how one will classify them. The most basic affiliate marketing programs, however, falls under two categories: pay-per-click (PPC), and pay-per-performance (PPP).

Pay Per Click (PPC)

PPC is the most popular type of affiliate marketing for affiliates with small websites, and probably the easiest way for them to earn money. In this affiliate marketing type, the merchant pays his affiliate whenever a visitor is referred to his site, that is whenever someone clicks through the merchant’s banner or text ads. The affiliate gets paid a certain amount even if the visitor he referred does not purchase anything from the merchant’s site. However, typical fees for PPC affiliate programs are small, usually not exceeding a dollar for every click.

Pay Per Performance (PPP)

PPP affiliate marketing is the most popular among merchant and is also the most lucrative type for the affiliates. In this type of affiliate program, the merchant only pays the affiliate whenever his referral translates into an actionthat is whenever the visitor he has referred actually buys something from the merchant’s site or when the visitor becomes a lead. This means a lot of savings for the merchant. On the other hand, it becomes the most lucrative type for the dedicated affiliate, for commissions in PPP affiliate marketing usually comes in the range of 15% to 20% of the actual product sales.

Pay-per-performance affiliate marketing can be further classified into two popular types: pay-per-sales (PPS) and pay-per-lead (PPL).

oPay Per Sale (PPS)

In a pay-per-sale type of affiliate marketing, the merchants pay the affiliate a certain fee whenever the visitor he has referred to the merchant’s site actually buys something from the merchant’s site. Affiliates are often paid on commission basis, although other merchants would opt to pay a fixed fee. But no matter what the basis of the fee is, it is generally higher than the fee paid to affiliates in a pay-per-click affiliate program.

oPay Per Lead (PPL)

The pay-per-lead type of affiliate marketing is a slight variation of the PPS type and is often used by insurance and finance companies and other companies who rely on leads for their company to grow. In this type of affiliate marketing, the affiliate is paid whenever the visitor he referred to the merchant’s site fills up an application form or any similar form related to the business of the company. Compensation for this type of affiliate marketing is based on a fixed fee whose rates approximate that of the fixed fee in the PPS type.

Aside from these three specific types of affiliate marketing, a lot of other affiliate marketing types exist. If the classification is based on the depth of the affiliate network, it can be classified as single-tier, two-tier, and multi-tier affiliate marketing. There is also another type of affiliate marketing that pays the affiliate each time the customer he has referred purchases something from the merchant’s site.

Single-Tier, Two-Tier, and Multi-Tier Affiliate Marketing

These types of affiliate marketing are based on the different levels or tiers in the affiliate network by which payments are made. In a single-tier affiliate marketing program, the affiliates are only paid based on the direct sales or traffic he has referred to the merchant. All the previously mentioned affiliate marketing types (i.e. PPS< PPL, and PPC) fall under the single-tier classification.

In two-tier affiliate marketing programs, the affiliate is not only paid for the direct traffic or sales that he refers to the merchant’s site, but also on every traffic or sales referred by various other affiliates who joined the affiliate program through his recommendation. Multi-tier affiliate marketing works the same way, although the affiliate gets additional commission for a wider number of affiliates in different tiers in the affiliate network.

Residual Income Affiliate Marketing

In residual income affiliate marketing, the affiliate gets paid not only once for every customer he has referred to the merchant’s site. Rather, the affiliate is also paid whenever the customer he has referred returns to the site and purchase another product. Compensation for such type of affiliate marketing is based on either sales percentage commission or fixed fee basis.

The different affiliate marketing types would virtually work differently for merchants and affiliates alike, and each would generally have their own list of benefits. Which type of affiliate marketing will work best for you? It is not really for me to tell. Rather, it is for you to choose which type of affiliate marketing program will suit your needs and characteristics best.

Affiliate Marketing – Best Performing Different Types

Affiliate marketing programs has never been as popular before as it is today. Why? There can be a number of reasons. The most probable reason, however, could be the fact that the benefits of online affiliate marketing have become clearer to a lot of people now than they were before.

Today, both the merchants and the affiliates can see clearly that affiliate online marketing can work for both of them. The merchant sees affiliate marketing today as the chance to advertise their products at a lower cost.

The affiliates, on the other hand, sees affiliate online marketing as an easy way of earning profits online by doing what they like most, and that is by creating websites.

Just as the popularity of affiliate online marketing has shifted into greater heights, so has the people’s outlook about it changed. No longer is affiliate marketing considered today as an alternative method for the merchant to advertise his products, or as a source of additional income for the affiliates. For merchants and affiliates alike, affiliate marketing is now considered as a main source of profits and revenues.

So the question now is what type of affiliate online marketing will work best for you? Are all affiliate marketing programs the same? Are the benefits the same? Or are there affiliate marketing programs that work better than the others?

There are actually different types or classes of affiliate marketing, and the number of types will depend on how one will classify them. The most basic affiliate marketing programs, however, falls under two categories: pay-per-click known as PPC, and pay-per-performance known as PPP.

- Pay Per Click – PPC

PPC is the most popular type of affiliate online marketing for affiliates with small websites, and probably the easiest way for them to earn money.

- Pay Per Performance – PPP

PPP affiliate online marketing is the most popular among merchant and is also the most lucrative type for the affiliates. In this type of affiliate program, the merchant only pays the affiliate whenever his referral translates into an action that is whenever the visitor he has referred actually buys something from the merchant’s site or when the visitor becomes a lead.

This means a lot of savings for the merchant. On the other hand, it becomes the most lucrative type for the dedicated affiliate, for commissions in PPP affiliate marketing usually comes in the range of 15% to 20% of the actual product sales.

Pay-per-performance affiliate online marketing can be further classified into two popular types: pay-per-sales known as PPS and pay-per-lead known as PPL.

- Pay Per Sale – PPS

In a pay-per-sale type of affiliate marketing, the merchants pay the affiliate a certain fee whenever the visitor he has referred to the merchant’s site actually buys something from the merchant’s site.

Affiliates are often paid on commission basis, although other merchants would opt to pay a fixed fee. But no matter what the basis of the fee is, it is generally higher than the fee paid to affiliates in a pay-per-click affiliate program.

- Pay Per Lead – PPL

- Single-Tier, Two-Tier, and Multi-Tier Affiliate Marketing.

These types of affiliate online marketing are based on the different levels or tiers in the affiliate network by which payments are made. In a single-tier affiliate marketing program, the affiliates are only paid based on the direct sales or traffic he has referred to the merchant. All the previously mentioned affiliate marketing types (i.e. PPS, PPL, and PPC) fall under the single-tier classification.

- In two-tier affiliate internet marketing programs, the affiliate is not only paid for the direct traffic or sales that he refers to the merchant’s site, but also on every traffic or sales referred by various other affiliates who joined the affiliate program through his recommendation.

Multi-tier affiliate internet marketing works the same way, although the affiliate gets additional commission for a wider number of affiliates in different tiers in the affiliate network.

- Residual Income Affiliate Internet Marketing

In residual income affiliate marketing, the affiliate gets paid not only once for every customer he has referred to the merchant’s site. Rather, the affiliate is also paid whenever the customer he has referred returns to the site and purchase another product. Compensation for such type of affiliate marketing is based on either sales percentage commission or fixed fee basis.

The different affiliate internet marketing types would virtually work differently for merchants and affiliates alike, and each would generally have their own list of benefits.

Which type of affiliate internet marketing will work best for you? It is not really for me to tell. Rather, it is for you to choose which type of affiliate marketing program will suit your needs and characteristics best.

How Do I Become a Successful Freelance Copywriter?

Many new internet business endeavours disappear very quickly, whilst others appear to be doing well only to grind to a halt. Statistics from the Small Business Administration confirm this by telling us that only a third of all new businesses eventually turn a profit. This information is not intended to scare you, because you do not have to be one of those statistics. All you have to do to join thousands of other successful copywriters, is to avoid common internet business start-up pitfalls. Here are some guidelines to ensure your online copywriting business success.

Developing the right mindset

1. In order to become a successful online copywriter you have to develop the right mindset. The copywriting business is not a get rich quick scheme. It won’t make you a millionaire overnight. But if you follow a few relatively simple steps you could set yourself on the road to financial independence and possibly great wealth!

Action Planning

2. According to online marketing guru Steve Wagenheim, in an ereport entitled The Mindset Of The Successful Marketer , 95% of the people who try to run an online business fail. This is because, they have no plan and they have no idea of what they are doing. If you fail to plan, you plan to fail, and this could spell disaster for your earning potential as a copywriter.

3. Avoid this problem by focusing on a particular area of copywriting. Nick Usborne writes in The Top Ten Mistakes Made by Freelance Writers and Copywriters that it is “far better that you establish a clear niche, an area in which you specialise and then become an expert”.

4. In order to decide on which area of copywriting to specialise in you may want to refer to sites which provide detailed information on the different types of copywriting opportunities available. Business Planning

5. All successful online business owners have developed a realistic business plan for their ventures. Business planning will give you a clear sense of direction and enable you to measure success within your copywriting business. The Business Link website provides a template for writing a business plan in addition to clear guidelines on what information to provide in each section.

Goalsetting

6. Write down how you would like to develop your business within the next 6 months, 12 months, 18 months and so on. As a newcomer you might set yourself a financial goal to make at least £6,000 in the first year of your copywriting career.

7. Using Robert Bly’s calculations in 10 Ways to make a 6-Figure Income as a Freelance Writer, you will have to make £120 a week for 50 weeks. To achieve your weekly target you might plan to do two assignments a week at £60 each. Focus on Quality

8. Dr. Ken Evoy, creator of Site Sell Inc emphasises the importance of offering your customer high quality information. In doing so, you become a trusted expert and many customers will want to work with you. As a result, your income will actually soar. Once the word gets round you will establish credibility for yourself and you will be able to command higher fees.

Market Your Services

9. Go to copywriting internet forums such as Google groups and Yahoo Groups. Post an ad stating that you are offering a free copywriting service. Some online marketers will give your free service a try. Make sure you obtain testimonials for each project you complete.

10. Build a website to promote your copywriting services. Assemble the free copywriting assignments into a portfolio and provide a statement reflecting your work. Don’t forget to include the testimonials received from your customers.

You can drive traffic to your site in many ways:

* Consider delivering informative content for free article directories such as Go Articles and Ezine Articles. Don’t forget to include a hook to your website.

* Write a blog about your business using Blogger or Wordpress.

* Send out news releases * Network on discussion boards get to know people in the community and swap services with other members

You can expand your work opportunities by signing up to a freelance writing agency such as Academic Knowledge.
