Information Marketing With a 7 Dollar Twist

In early February 2007 a new “system” was added to the Internet marketing mix. Created by Jonathan Leger, a programmer/marketer from Dallas, the system continues to yield results for those who apply it. But does it fit your online business model?

The original report, which has now sold thousands of copies, explains the simple system:

- Create a report

- Sell the report

- Make it *very* easy and attractive for others to sell your report

- Provide a one-time offer to increase your immediate revenue

- Repeat

On the surface it sounds like a traditional information marketing model. But there are a few twists that make the 7 Dollar model unique.

1. While you can create the report from scratch, it could just as easily be one of those resale rights or private label rights ebooks you have sitting idle on your hard drive.

2. People who purchase your report can immediately sell it with no special instruction and no affiliate registration.

3. They keep 100% of the sales price.

4. You get the new customer’s name and email.

5. The 7 dollar scripts, which are included in the original ebook, put the whole operation on autopilot.

As a result of this system a cottage industry of new listing sites, new template formats, and experienced web designers who specialize in setting up 7 dollar sites has been created. And there’s no end in sight!

While the system is attractive, it has its drawbacks. For one, you either need to be fairly comfortable with HTML or you need to have someone who is. Installing the scripts is relatively easy. Getting all the pieces to work flawlessly is more complex and time-consuming.

Second, as would be expected there is a proliferation of 7 dollar products in the “making money” category. Yet while those seem to be the most popular and more profitable, there are people making money from other topics. One site lists over 400 products using the 7 dollar system, in 18 different categories

Third, you are essentially giving away your front-end profits in order to build a list. While this won’t hurt if you have a profitable “backend” to your product funnel, it does present a dilemma for newbies. After all, which do you need more – in revenue or a new subscriber? And could you purchase a new subscriber for less than with another traffic method?

So given all of that, should the 7 Dollar System be a part of your online business? It all depends…

You can easily use the scripts to automate your sales process, particularly if you have a one-time-offer that converts well.

You can refer people on your list (or via other traffic methods) to the 7 dollar products that you recommend – putting the in your PayPal account immediately.

You can start making profits or getting subscribers from those “dead” resale products sitting on your hard drive.

You can even build your list using this method. Just be aware of the “cost” per subscriber.

It’s all up to you and how you want to take advantage of this “new” online tactic.

Problem 3: Delaying the Decision

I hung out with a friend for most of the seminar. He is aware that I follow the “60 second rule”.

That rule is simple: take no longer than 60 seconds to make a decision.

So we’d go out to eat with a group of seminar attendees. It’d take them ten minutes to figure out where to go, another ten minutes to organize the carpools, and ten minutes more of bullshitting before we left the hotel.

In the time I could’ve cooked a meal from scratch.

Whenever either my friend or I would notice someone hesitating, we’d turn to each other and

say “60 second rule”.

You wouldn’t believe how many times we said that during the seminar.

It absolutely blows my mind how people get comfortable hesitating. I have conditioned myself to take action… not hesitate… because I know that taking action is a lot better thing to do than hesitating when it comes to making money.

Delaying the decision is worse than making the wrong decision. You can usually fix bad decisions.

You can’t fix indecision.

Problem 2: Not Understanding the “Point of Overwhelm”

The fact is I know exactly where I’m going with my business. I’m only interested in ideas that will get me there faster, or enhance what I’m already doing by making it easier or more enjoyable.

Learning how to use social media marketing from scratch will make the process longer, not shorter. Sure, people make millions off of it. But I’m not going to pretend there isn’t a massive learning curve to it.

There is.

One I don’t want to attempt, because I’d have to completely reinvent my business to incorporate it.

Not for me.

But most people at seminars leave with pages and pages of notes, almost a whole notebook full. I used to be one of them. You know how many times I’ve used notes like that?

Twice.

Let’s be honest with ourselves. Do we really do anything with the notes when we get home? So why clutter up your life anymore?

There is a point of overwhelm.

That’s when you have too much noise in your head. That’s usually caused by trying to take in 20 hours of content in three days. 20 condensed hours covering thousands of hours of experience.

When you leave yourself open to all possibilities, you end up choosing none. If I were starting over again from scratch, here’s what I’d do.

I’d go to the seminars until I heard a presentation that completely blew me away and got me excited.

Then, if that speaker had a course, I’d buy.

Then, I’d lock myself in the hotel room for the rest of the seminar. I’d devour that information.

By the end of the seminar, I’d already have an action plan on using that information, and have already completed several steps in it.

That means no more attending any other presentations. I’d only break at night to go network with other people, to develop mutually prosperous relationships for helping each other achieve our goals.

If I was too shy to network, then I’d just stay in the hotel room and act, act, act.

By the flight home, I’d have already put in 25 hours of work into my new internet business.

The momentum would them carry over to when I got home. With all my spare time, I’d know exactly what I should be doing. And that’s all I would be doing.

That’s not sexy though.

In fact, it kind of sounds like hard work, doesn’t it? That’s because it is…in a relative sense. You’re going to have to dig in for a bit. But trust me. My work days are very easy these days.

I don’t have to answer to someone else and I don’t have to put up with idiots.

It was totally worth those few months of solid, dedicated, action taking.

Here’s how you beat “the point of overwhelm”. First realize it exists. Second, whenever you feel overwhelmed, stop thinking. Overwhelm only comes from thinking too much.

What do you do instead of think?

Take action. Just go with something. Anything is better than staying in a state of overwhelm.

“Is This Online Information Marketing Business Model Right For You? – Step 3″

In these series of articles I’m writing, I want to specifically talk about the 8 Steps to Starting Your Own Online Information Marketing Business. Because this is by far one of the only types of businesses out there that is still generating millions of dollars and doing it via the internet.

Now when I say develop new streams of revenue, I’m not talking about adding one or more network marketing type businesses to your belt so you just have more to sell that may or may not be at all related to the type of business you’re already in. Not that there’s anything wrong with network marketing models but I just wanted to make that distinction; I’m not talking about that kind of income stream.

I’m talking about leveraging your expertise, knowledge, systems, services, information, etc. into products and services you can create basically one time and then sell over and over again via the internet.

If you’re already in an information marketing business you still may want to pay attention because I can almost guarantee that you will be negligent in one, two or even maybe three of the steps I plan to cover. Changing these things in your business could generate 10’s of 1,000’s of dollars in your pocket if you tweak a few things.

We know millions of people are still spending money. The question is how do you get a piece of that pie?

Well, Step 3 in this process is Figuring Out What to Sell and How to Price It.

Previously in step 2 I talked about choosing the business model that fits the type of lifestyle you want to lead. So after doing that there will be specific types of products, services or programs that fit that model (others will not).

So, what will you sell?

- Will you sell yourself and your time? Will you sell hourly, monthly or annual coaching or consulting services, packages or programs?

o If so, how much will you charge per hour? per month, etc.?

o Will you definitely charge “what you’re worth” or will you charge less thinking that people won’t pay what you think you are worth? Be careful undercharging or under valuing yourself. I say you charge what you’re worth and then find the people who agree and will pay you that fee.

o What is included in your services – call in hours, 1on1 calls, group Q&A calls, in person meetings, emailing, critiquing, resources?

o What can you also offer as a bonus to get people to sign up?

- Will you sell your information and expertise? You can put almost anything you know about into an information marketing product these days. Of course you do want to make sure people want what you’re selling so doing surveys and research first is critical.

o You can write an article, read it on a teleclass for a product, then record it too and you have an audio recording or CD. Transcribe the call and edit with the article and maybe beef up a bit and you have the ebook to go with the CD!

o Or record yourself talking about a topic, transcribe it and you create the product – it can be that simple.

o There are numerous other ways to create products to sell – talk to me for more ideas!!

o So, how much is your expertise worth? Well, look around at other similar products, compare price and content then start somewhere and possibly test out different prices or survey an audience to see what they would spend. Typically for an information marketing product you can charge 10 times the amount it actually costs to produce if you’re selling a hard copy product. If you’re selling a digitally delivered product, you can do it for less and focus on volumn sales.

- Will you hold live events, retreats, workshops, seminars or other in person meeting? You can sell those one by one or in a series and if you record those or videotape those then you have a home study kit!

o Pricing for events is hard to generalize. Some bigger 3+ day events typically go for 00, others can go for less. It depends on your goals of your event and what else you have to sell at the event too – where else you can make money….

- You can do a combination of these things too; I do them all! But you do typically want to start with ONE thing first, then add to it and so on. Now, granted you can’t just plop a webpage up or blog and think people will come and buy right away. You still have to set up systems, your support team, build a responsive list and manage ongoing marketing campaigns for any of these things to sell properly.

I’ve done this and taught hundreds of my clients how to do this and you can do it too. I’d love to show you how!!

When I changed my entire business model to this information marketing model I immediately got back 50 hours per week that I was spending working on all my client’s work or busywork that I now spend on my own business and personal development.

There are 5 more steps to starting your own Online Information Marketing Business and so I will bring you more later…..

Now IS THE TIME to take action in your business. It’s time to think bigger, dream bigger, make bigger goals and take bigger leaps of faith in order to truly get the business and life of your dreams.

Problem 1: Not Realizing it’s ALL About Making Money

We had just gotten back from dinner. One of the attendees there showed me his website. The first question I asked was “How much money is this website making you?”

He stuttered. He stammered. He started to explain that this website was more about SEO than making money.

Wrong. It’s all about making money. If you’re doing something that isn’t making you money, stop it.

Now, understand this. It’s okay to admit you don’t make any money. Time and again people lied to me telling me they were making ‘a few thousand’ a month (or whatever), but their body language told otherwise.

And that’s a huge problem. They equate making money or not with their ego.

Better to admit you aren’t making money now than to try to hide it. What message is that sending to your unconscious? It’s sending a message that it’s okay and excusable to continue with your current behavior.

And if you’re goal is to make money, then it is not excusable.

I do not think less of a person who isn’t making any money online. I do think less of a person who doesn’t want to admit it though, or who lies about it. The fact is, I can’t really help those people because their ego will get in the way.

It’s when you make it excusable to do stuff that doesn’t make you money, that’s when the problems occur. You’re justifying behavior that is counter productive to your end goal.

Jim Rohn says “affirm the truth” and I agree. It’s only when you look at the situation with accurate thinking can you formulate a plan based in reality. Otherwise, you’ll come up with excuses.

People are either really good at making money or really good at making excuses, but never good at both.

Pick one.

3 Simple Solutions For Online Marketing Information Overload

When you realize the potential for growing your business using online marketing, the next step is to learn what to do and how to do it. This is where most people get stuck.

The good news is there is a plethora of free information on the internet about online marketing strategies. The bad news is there is a plethora of free online marketing information on the internet, which, for most people, can quickly lead to information overload.

It starts innocently enough with searching on a specific strategy such as pay-per-click, or article directories, or online video, or … But one thing can quickly lead to another thing, and pretty soon you’re r
eading about 20 different online lead generation strategies.

In the course of your wanderings, you stumble on countless blogs with hundreds of tips and strategies. And it seems like everyone has a report or email series that will cure all your problems, and they’re all free, so what the heck, you sign up for all of them.

Before long, you spend your days reading email and blogs, and wandering aimlessly around the internet, trying to figure out how it all ties together, or searching in vain for the magic blue pill you need to boost your business, the silver bullet. Pretty soon weeks go by, then months, and you still haven’t implemented anything. Your inbox is overflowing. You have hundreds of useful bookmarks.

You have tons of information swirling in your brain but you haven’t added one nickle to the bottom line of your business. You have thousands of emails, and hundreds of notes and downloaded files. You have so much information you don’t know where to find specific information when you need it.

I confess, not too long ago this was me. The engineer in me wanted to know everything before I got started, and wanted to get everything perfect the first time. As I encounter other people learning internet marketing for their business, I find a large percentage are also stuck in information overload land. I’m happy to report that I have been “cured” of internet marketing overloaditis.

Just follow these 3 simple guidelines and watch your income grow, not just your headache.

1. Just say no. Spend enough time figuring out which mentors you relate to and want to learn from and then just say no to everyone and everything else. Get off email lists and be selective about which blogs you read.

2. Get organized. Setup a file folder for each different strategy such as social networking, online video, PPC, article directories, etc. Create the same directory structure in your email system. Setup a physical binder with identical tabs. When you get valuable information, file it in the appropriate folder for easy retrieval in the future. Print out the important information and put it in your binder. Now when you need information on a specific topic you know where to find it.

3. Just do it. You don’t have to be perfect. Read carefully because this is the most important step. Pick one online marketing method, and put it into practice. Focus on this method and make it your highest priority. Once you have it mastered you can then add a second method. Prioritize tasks related to generating income at the top of your task list, and only spend time wandering around on the internet AFTER you have completed your income producing actions for the day and only if you have enough willpower to stop after a specific amount of time.

You will learn so much more by taking action it’s amazing. The heardest part can be the first step. Just do whatever you have to do to take that first step and watch how much easier the next step is.

And now I would like to invite you to claim your FREE ACCESS to “15 Ways To Grow Your Business Online”. Just click here to send me a blank email and you’ll start receiving valuable information that can help you get more traffic to your website or blog and make more money from your visitors.

Information Marketing: Using Bonuses to Entice Upgrades

Membership upgrades are a helpful way to gain more profits for the products you give. I have two strategies that can help with getting the interest you need to add your upgrades.

As the President of the Information Marketing Association, I host monthly coaching calls for info-marketers who have questions and are trying to launch their infopreneur business. Here is a question from Doran in British Columbia, Canada about using bonuses to encourage members to upgrade. Since this is a common question, I decided to prepare an article about this challenge to help you.

Offering different levels of membership for your product is a good way to get people to want to pay more to view what your products may offer. Bringing some super bribes into the mix to get them to upgrade to the higher levels will help your business bring in more profits by offering more products or services more a higher level of support. Here are two reasons why this offer would help your company’s profits increase.

There are two primary reasons why people want to upgrade their membership to a higher level. The first one is the offer of a big bonus. If you are offering much more product for just a little more money, your members will see the benefit in getting more for you money. The second reason members upgrade is to find out exactly what is at the next level that they might want. Members will ask themselves, “What is at the next level that I really, really want?”

An important factor to consider is scarcity. If you only offer a certain amount of bonuses, and tell your members, it is only available to the first so many of people that respond the interest and response to the offer will increase. Using the element of limited value can help encourage your members to respond right away to the offer so that they may obtain the benefits before the benefits run out. By offering bribes, your business memberships will have more interest if you focus on using more products for the money and utilize the element of scarcity.

There have never been greater, more diverse, more lucrative opportunities for everyone—experienced, successful entrepreneurs to rank beginners—in the field of information marketing. If you can name a topic, there is a market for providing information about it. People buy information about almost everything—from hobbyist topics like dog training, to business topics like how to sell over the telephone, to self-improvement topics like fitness walking. The key is to find a responsive market and then package information that customers want in convenient forms such as DVD’s, books, eBooks, CD’s, magazines, websites, teleseminars, webinars, coaching programs, seminars, and conferences. Watch a free video revealing several info-marketers created their products and became infopreneurs at www.Info-Marketing.org.

Information Marketing: Taking the Next Step After a Seminar or Conference

As an Information Marketer, it is important to know when it is right to take the next step. During a conference or seminar, you have the best possible situation to present that step. You already know that if the people have devoted their time and money to listen to you, then they are genuinely interested in going forward. They just want to see how the infopreneur is going to put the information out there. They all want to know what they are going to get out of the information. So make them want more.

As the president of the Information Marketing Association, I host a monthly coaching call for info-marketers who have questions and are trying to launch their infopreneur business. Here is a question from Bill Goff in Alabama. Bill’s question is in regards to a seminar where he is offering a variety of different aspects. Since this is a common question, I have decided to prepare an article about this challenge to help you.

When designing a conference or seminar, it is important that you design it so that there is a comfortable atmosphere for your viewers. Remember, they will be sitting there for many hours on end. You will additionally want to plan an opportunity for a social session for the viewers. This will allow them to ask one-on-one questions and that provides the ability for you to gather more information on what they are looking for in your program.

The reason why you will want to do this is to break the monotony. You do not want your viewers to fall asleep in their chairs. You want them to be excited about what the information is going to do for them.

During your seminar or conference, let them know that you have an exciting prospect for them, but space is limited. This will give them an opportunity to get more excited and fight for those limited spaces. Be sure that you mention this opportunity multiple times to remind them. Remember, the average person needs to hear something three times before it cements into their minds.

When the time is right, you can present the coaching plan or the next level in the plan. Be sure to let them know what to expect from you and how you are going to go about the process. If done correctly, you will have the results you are looking for. Additionally, be sure to address the one-on-one questions they have provided. People love to know that you have honestly listened to them.

There have never been greater, more diverse, more lucrative opportunities for everyone- experienced, successful entrepreneurs to rank beginners-in the field of information marketing. If you can name a topic, there is a market for providing information about it. People buy information about almost everything-from hobbyist topics like dog training, to business topics like how to sell over the telephone, to self-improvement topics like fitness walking. The key is to find a responsive market and then package the information that customers want in convenient forms such as DVD’s, books, eBooks, cd’s, magazines, websites, teleseminars, webinars, coaching programs, seminars and conferences. Watch a free video revealing several how several info marketers created their products and became infopreneurs at www.Info-Marketing.org

When you are short on time and money, generating a high value product to sell to a few clients is a way to generate some fast cash. The good thing is you are only limited by the quality of the product or service you provide.

As the President of the Information Marketing Association, I host a monthly coaching call for info-marketers who have questions and are trying to launch their infopreneur business. Here is a question from Nina in Las Vegas, Nevada about transforming online newsletters into a mailing. Since this is a common question, I decided to prepare an article about this challenge to help you.

Being pressed for time is a common occurrence in our day to day lives. I have a lot of people tell me, “Robert, I can’t imagine how you get all this done.” If this is how you feel about your own business, what your feeling is very normal and it will only get worse as your business grows. You will discover that there will be a lot more opportunities than you will be able to fulfill.

The first recommendation I have for those of you who have very little time to work with, is to create a product or program with a high transaction value. Rather than having a 50 dollar product that you are trying to market to 300 people, try and create a product that is somewhere between 0 and ,500 that you market to 10 or 15 people. It is much easier to make an actual difference in your life by having 10 people paying ,500 a month than it would be trying to find 500 people paying 0 a month to have the same effect on your business income.

You don’t have to worry about the price you charge for your high value product. There are a lot of service providers who make a lot less money than their clients do, but they still charge the price for their service. The only barrier to what you can charge is how much you can deliver for your customers. If you’re able to deliver 0 worth of value, even if it’s the first 0 you’ve ever gotten, that’s still 0 worth of value to your customer. There is no one who will be checking your tax return to see whether it is the only 0 or if it is one of many.

Information Marketing: Setting a Price for Your Product

When you’re new to an industry without a lot of experience or credibility, determining a price for the service you are providing can be a tricky procedure. Luckily, there are three secrets to charging more for your products.

As the President of the Information Marketing Association, I get questions from info-marketers who have questions and are trying to launch their infopreneur business in our members’ forum. Here is a question from one of our members in Las Vegas, Nevada about how to charge more for your product even with limited experience. Since this is a common question, I decided to prepare an article about this challenge to help you.

The first secret to charging more for your product, is simply that, charge more. You should avoid selling yourself cheap because it ruins your ability to over-deliver for your clients and limits how much you can do for marketing. What you think you can charge, you may be able to multiply it several times. You have to make sure you always over deliver on your promises, but don’t make promises for cheap prices. All that does is over extend yourself and create stress in your life.

The second secret for charging more is finding the right niche. Rather than trying to be the general guru in marketing, be the person who generates traffic to websites and websites that generate leads within niches. Try and think about what industries have money and are willing to pay for leads, and what industries your best customers are with. Specialize and get an understanding of a certain type of customer and then you’ll never have to worry about competitors again.

The third secret to charging more is to generate more leads yourself. The reason people can charge more is because they are marketing more. They have more people coming to their websites and that increases their chances that someone will show up and jump at the chance to hire them. For you, this means finding out what you can do to increase the flow of your best customers coming to your website. You have to decide what you can offer them to come and what you can offer that will get them engaged.

Always remember, it’s not about you or even about your product; it’s all about your customer. What secrets, insights or problems you have solved they desperately need and want. Once you know that, it’ll be a lot easier to deliver what they want and charge premium prices.

In marketing, a physical document is usually a more personal and direct manner of sending information to a client. When you have an online database of clients, it is often useful to convert your online marketing into a database of mailing addresses.

As the President of the Information Marketing Association, I host a monthly coaching call for info-marketers who have questions and are trying to launch their infopreneur business. Here is a question from Ted in LaHoya, California about transforming online newsletters into a mailing. Since this is a common question, I decided to prepare an article about this challenge to help you.

Back in 2006, the internet information marketers began to realize that although they had a great run sending out emails, the lists they used were waning. There were a lot of marketers who decided to try and convert their online clients to a mailing list. One way to help encourage online clients to give out their mailing address is to create a product that will interest them. For example, one information marketer who did this was Chris Pizo. He came up with the audio program that he knew his clients would just love and he offered to send it out to them for free. Of course it didn’t encourage all of them, but it encouraged a huge number to go ahead give him their full address to send the free CD. It doesn’t have to be a free CD though. It could be a free CD or a free report. It could be any thing you would like. But then it becomes something that is kind of a headline for one of your next emails. It is all about how this free product is going to be available and all they have to do to get it, is to click on a link and give you their mailing address.

You don’t have to give up on your email clientele. It really is not all that expensive to reformat your offline newsletter and stick it online, even if it’s brief or converted into articles. Regardless, you are going to want to continue tending to your email list. Email does have a much lower perceived value, and a much lower emotional attachment than something received in the mail. In the end, the goal is to create an emotional response, which is really trust. This is accomplished much easier through mailings rather than email.

The key is to find a responsive market and then package information that customers want in convenient forms such as DVD’s, books, e-books, CD’s, magazines, websites, teleseminars, webinars, coaching programs, seminars, and conferences.

When developing a successful business, one technique for going from making zero to making money is to enlist the help of an expert who already has some products and information and assist that expert in their marketing endeavor.

As the President of the Information Marketing Association, I host a monthly coaching call for info-marketers who have questions and are trying to launch their infopreneur business. Here is a question from David in Dallas, Texas about working with an expert to create products. Since this is a common question, I decided to prepare an article about this challenge to help you.

Deciding whether to work with an expert to create products for your company can be a difficult decision you make when looking at the profitability of your business. Ed O’Keefe answered a question on a recent call where someone asked him, “If you were to start over again in info marketing would you do it the same way” and his comment was, “Well not necessarily.” Sometimes it can be more productive to sit back and be the behind-the-scenes marketer and let someone else be the guru. In other words, working with another person who happens to have the expertise in the field you are marketing and helping them get their knowledge marketed can be beneficial to your own business. Finding an expert who can provide some help to you in developing products for your niche is often a useful venture, especially if the person your working with has good products and good training, but doesn’t spend the time on marketing. This way, the marketing can be done by you and the development can be done by the expert.

It certainly is a good way to learn, because you can go from making zero to making money very quickly because the product is there and developed. There’s a reputation already established by the expert you are working with. There are testimonials that you could use and it’s going to be a much quicker way to start. The main concern is that after you’ve done all this work for the next two years making the expert and yourself a lot of money by generating customers, all of the sudden your value will appear to be much less, than it really is. Most people, after having somebody create a business for them especially when they haven’t done a whole lot of work at it, seem to think that they must be magic and that’s why it’s worked so well when in fact it is the partnership that has really been successful. However, over and over again the reason why these relationships seem to break apart is that one of the partners thinks that they’re more important than the other. That’s why it is important that when you create your agreement, you do so with the understanding that it possibly won’t last and give yourself an out clause that allows you to maybe keep the list. That’s the key to making it work long-term.

But there’s no easier way for you to go from zero to making money than taking his advice and building some kind of joint venture relationships. There are lots of opportunities to find joint ventures. There are a lot of people in different markets that are looking for opportunities and products to offer and there are great markets and great ways to move product for the person’s whose ambition you are marketing for.

The key is to find a responsive market and then package information that customers want in convenient forms such as DVD’s, books, e-books, CD’s, magazines, websites, teleseminars, webinars, coaching programs, seminars, and conferences. Watch a free video revealing how several info-marketers created their products and became infopreneurs at www.Info-Marketing.org.

“How to Go From Being a Completely Broke Job-Seeker to Making N150,000 Every Single Month Working Less Than 3 Hours a Day”

Dear Friend,

If you are tired of being a job seeker.

If you are tired of trekking the streets of Lagos in search of a job.

If you don’t want to spend the rest of your life working like a slave in a job that doesn’t give you any personal satisfaction.

If you are tired of constantly being broke and living from hand-to-mouth

If you would like to make N150,000 every month working less than 3 hours a day.

If you want to be able to work wherever and whenever you want to.

If you would like to have more than enough free time to spend with your family and friends.

If you want to have the money to finally live the kind of life you deserve to live.

Then this may be the most important message you will ever come across.

Our Story

Our names are Oluwole Emmanuel and Ojumu Olaolu, and years ago we used to be two jobless and completely broke young men living from hand-to-mouth, with no idea where our next meal would come from.

We trekked the streets of Lagos looking for good jobs, all to no avail.

There were days when all we had to eat was a bowl of soaked garri.

We lived in constant fear that one day our landlord would lose patience with us and throw us out of our homes because of our unpaid 1 year+ house rent.

After unsuccessfully searching for good jobs, we worked at jobs we hated, in return for a totally inadequate salary that wasn’t even enough to take care of our basic necessities, all the while praying that some day, some how our situations would change.

After days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months and our situation still remained the same, it seemed as if all hope was lost and we were doomed to working at jobs we hated in return for a completely insufficient salary that wasn’t even enough to take care of our most basic necessities.

In a desperate effort to earn extra money to supplement our meagre salaries, we tried out every single money making system we could find, all to no avail. We tried Forex Trading, Stocks Trading, Network Marketing, we tried everything, but no matter what we did we always ended up losing far more money than we made.

Then a year ago when we had completely lost hope, and our situation was beginning to look totally bleak and hopeless . . .

Something Happened

We accidentally stumbled across an income system that completely changed our lives.

An income system so profitable that because of it thousands of people right here in Nigeria are living the kind of life they’ve always dreamed of living because of it.

An income system so profitable that right here in Nigeria, we’ve seen a formerly broke 19-year old who now makes close to N170,000 every single month, working less than 4 hours per day.

An income system so profitable we’ve seen a 31-year old polytechnic graduate who has never been an employee in his life yet makes more than N210,00 every month.

An income system so profitable a former music teacher made over N11,000 within 5 days of learning about it.

An income system so profitable we’ve seen a former delivery boy who now makes more money in 1 month than the boss who sacked him earns in 6 months.

An income system so profitable we’ve seen a university dropout who now makes more money than some of his former professors working only 2 – 3 hours a day.

An income system so profitable we’ve seen a 59-year-old grandmother who now makes more than N140,00 every month working only 30 – 60 minutes per day.

An income system so profitable a newly married couple made more than N60,000 within 1 week of learning about it.

Now, you might be asking, what is this amazing income system we accidentally discovered?

Well the income system we stumbled across that completely changed the course of our lives and the lives of countless other individuals right here in Nigeria is called Information Marketing..

You might be asking . . .

What is Information Marketing?

Well, Information Marketing has been called “one of the fastest and easiest way for an ordinary Nigerian to earn a good living working wherever and whenever he wants to” .

Because of this, more and more people all over Nigeria are going into Information Marketing full time.

It is estimated that in Lagos alone, over 45,000 people are into Information Marketing

Countless Nigerians, male and female, young and old are living lives of prosperity and peace of mind because they’ve learnt and mastered the secrets of making money with Information Marketing.

You’ve read some of the stories of people whose lives have been changed through the power of Information Marketing.

Stories including :

The formerly broke 19-year old who now makes close to N170,000 every single month, working less than 4 hours per day.

The newly married couple who made more than N60,000 within 1 week of learning about Information Marketing.

The university dropout who now makes more money than some of his former professors working only 2 – 3 hours a day.

The former music teacher who made more than N11,000 within 5 days of learning about Information Marketing

And the 31-year old polytechnic graduate who has never been an employee in his life yet makes over N210,00 every month, because he mastered the secrets of making money with Information Marketing.

Here’s what some people are saying about Information Marketing

“Information Marketing is the most profitable income opportunity in Nigeria today”,

Dr. Sunny Obazu Ojeagbase

The Publisher of Complete Sports & Success Digest Extra.

“When I started information marketing, it took me only 3 weeks to make N106,500 from my N6,500 start up capital. No other business can offer such crazy returns. Believe me.”

L.B. Alex

“My experience as an information marketer has been amazing, starting with zero capital, today the story has changed. Infact I never wanted to do any other thing. I make more than enough money that I would rather employ than be unemployed. Information Marketing is great and interesting. Join our world!!!”

Bashorun Olakunle

You see, with Information Marketing . . .

You don’t need to have any kind of skill.

You don’t need to have any kind of prior experience

And you don’t need to be a university graduate, (there are thousands of people who are successfully making a very good living with Information Marketing who have never set foot in a University before)

If you have . . .

An Email address

A Bank Account

The Ability to Read and Write

Then you have everything it takes to start making money with Information Marketing.

Every single day countless people right here in Nigeria are making Thousands of Naira Daily through the Power of Information Marketing.

Now if you are expecting us to tell you that we are millionaires, sorry to disappoint you but we are not (at least not yet).

We are not millionaires

We don’t live in multi-million naira mansions,

And we don’t drive multi-million naira cars

We are just 2 ordinary Nigerians who used to be broke and jobless just 3 years ago, and who now and who now make a very good living thanks to Information Marketing, and to tell you the truth, we would rather make N390,000 a month and have peace of mind, than make N1 million a week and yet not be able to sleep at night.

After seeing honest, hardworking Nigerians working at jobs they don’t like in return for a meagre salary that can’t even put food on the table.

We Made a Decision

We decided to compile every single bit of knowledge we had about making money With Information Marketing into a guide.

If you’re involved in marketing information products on-line then there’s no disputing the need for you to accept credit cards in order to increase your overall sales. Typically in a retail environment your sales will increase anywhere from 15 to 40% when you have the ability to accept credit cards. This article is part 1 in a series of what information marketers should know about merchant accounts.

Visa and MasterCard account for over 90% of all credit card transactions, so the acceptance of those two card types is mandatory. Amex and Discover are the other two significant players, but account for only 5-7% of the market. If you’re selling higher priced information products acceptance of Amex is highly recommended.

There are four primary components involved in the processing of credit cards. The first is the actual card issuing entity, be it Visa, MasterCard, or other. The second is the company that sets you up to be able to accept credit cards, which is called the Merchant Account Provider. The third component needed for online processing of cards is a payment gateway, such as Authorize.net or Plug

The 50 Biggest Mistakes Information Marketers Make – #1 No Upsells in Their Online Ordering System

Mistake #1 – No Upsells in Your Online Ordering System

Millions of dollars are left on the table every year by Internet merchants, especially information marketers, who are not offering their customers one or more additional products during the online ordering process. If you’re not taking full advantage of this most opportune time to sell your customers more of what you have to offer then you’re a member of this club. This is NOT the club that you want to be a member of.

If your product line contains only a single product then it makes it difficult to sell more of your own products or services to your customers. So find a complementary product or service from another supplier that you can sell via an affiliate program.

If you can’t bundle it in on your own order page (maybe it’s a digital product delivery direct from the author), then offer it on your online thank you page via an affiliate link to the other site.

Or, if your product or service is appropriate, offer an extended subscription at a reduced price or come up with other quantity discounts to get more money out of your customer’s pockets now. You can upsell (or cross sell) either more of your own product or service or someone else’s product.

I’ve seen scenarios where the upsell percentage has been as high as 90% on some products. That means 9 out of every 10 people who were offered the additional product or service took advantage of it. Obviously, that results in a very positive impact on your bottom line – at no additional sales cost.

I’ve also seen upsells work where the product being offered as the upsell was priced at more than 5 times the price of the original product. This is definitely not the norm – but is very impressive nonetheless. Anything you’re considering should be tested first to see what gets the best response, but what you can test is only limited by your own creativity.

Information marketing can be a very tricky business. There are lots of little mistakes that can trip you up. These mistakes can totally derail a project or, at the least, cause you to leave thousands and thousands of dollars on the table.

A lack of upsells during the online ordering process is just one of the many mistakes that you can make. Avoiding these mistakes is the key to building a successful information marketing empire.

Upsells are powerful. Use them every time when selling your information products.

Is This Online Information Marketing Business Model Right For You?

Now is NOT the time to sit around in your business holding on to your wallets and sitting frozen on what to do next. It’s time to TAKE ACTION! No, I’m not suggesting you have to spend a lot of money either, although if you’re really struggling or unsure of what to do, hiring a coach like me of course would be well worth the investment. What I want you to look at though is your current business model. Is it the same as it was 5 years ago (or more!)? If so, I would suggest you look at some opportunities and possibilities that are all around you to TAKE IT TO THE NEXT LEVEL. I want to specifically talk about the 8 Steps to Starting Your Own Online Information Marketing Business. If you are just starting out in business then pay attention too because this online information marketing business model is working for tens of thousands of entrepreneurs all over the world. There are billions of dollars being made online RIGHT NOW even in this economy. People are still spending money. If the ones you’re talking to are not spending then it’s simple, you either need to talk to different people or create a product or service that people ARE BUYING right now. It can be that simple.
- No, you don’t have to know a lot about computers. – No, you don’t have to know how to design a website or blog. – No, you don’t need to travel all over the place meeting people. You can do this from your home with a computer. You want to surround yourself with people and mentors to support you in building, growing and maintaining this business because when it’s up and running and you’re marketing it effectively you will be able to work from anywhere in the world if you want to. The business literally can run itself with a little bit of automation and systematization set up. When I changed my entire business model to this model I immediately got back 50 hours per week that I was spending working on all my client’s work or busywork. I spent that extra time developing new products and services, marketing, thinking bigger, building relationships, coaching with my coaches and mastermind group and traveling to events or networking locally to fill my funnel. Most business owners that run traditional businesses or without this type of model don’t have the time in the day, week or even each month to be doing such tasks. You may not have time to work ON your business like you need to really see it grow and to make more money! So, where do you start? Brainstorming for one.
Get with other people or a coach that is doing this type of business and throw some ideas around. Determine if there’s a market for what you come up with and how the business will make a profit too; these things are often overlooked. Many people follow their passions first, start marketing or branding without even testing to see if anyone wants to buy what they’re offering or if they can even turn a good profit? Now IS THE TIME to take action in your business. It’s time to think bigger, dream bigger, make bigger goals and take bigger leaps of faith in order to truly get the business and life of your dreams.

Top 10 Reasons Why Information Marketing Is The Best Business On Earth

If you’re considering building a business for additional income, part-time or full time, I believe your best option is building an information marketing business. Here are my top reasons:

1) You have no limits on your income

With most other business the more time you spend, the more you earn. And because you have a limit on your time, you limit your income also.

When you build a profitable marketing system, every time you put in 1$ to marketing you make 2, 3, 5 or even 10 dollars. Spend more on marketing, and you earn more.

2) You have high profit margins.

When you buy an information you don’t pay for the cost of paper and ink, but for the positive impact that information might bring to your life.

How much would an day trader be willing to pay a winning stock tip? Thousands? Would he care if it is hand written on a napkin?

That’s the beauty of it. They can easily be sold for 10 times the cost.

3) You don’t have to create the product or be the expert yourself.

Do think it would be hard work to create a product?

Good news is, you don’t have to create the product your self. You can interview an expert. The recording is a product. You can also license other people’s products to resell.

The product is the easy part. The hard part is marketing.

4) Your business can run on autopilot, even while you sleep.

You can set up your marketing systems so that they run automatically. A sale can be made on-line when you’re asleep or even at a holiday.

That’s the same for offline sales, too. You can outsource everything. There are people who will take your orders on the phone for you, duplicate your products and ship them.

5) It has low start-up costs

You can start with a 10 page “report” that you write, buy the cheapest classified ad on local newspaper, and sell it for . I bet you can start it for less than 0.

One of the health newsletters I’m a subscriber of costs per year, and it consists of 8 pages of information sent monthly.

6) It requires no license, education etc.

It takes years to be doctor and open your own clinic. You can decide today to become an information marketer, and you’re in business today. Find a market, research what they want, and sell it to them. Easy.

7) You work once, get paid over and over again.

Sure, it takes some work to create a product, set up marketing… But you get paid for it again and again, as long as you can sell it.

It beats trading hours to dollars, even at high paid jobs. 0,000/yr makes /hr. If you sell a product for 0, 1000 sales a year beats that, because it can be done -very- part time.

You can do it anywhere in the world.

You can be anywhere in the world earning money. In fact, you can be on vacation in Hawaii and you\\’ll still be earning money.

9) You can do it on any economic climate.

It is recession and depression proof. In every market, there are people willing to buy information. “How to make sure your business survives depression” “How to find a job while everyone else is waiting on the line”… Just a few ideas…

10) It’s a business you can be proud of.

Sure, there are other ways to make lots of money fast. Like robbing a bank or printing counterfeit money. However, information marketing is the closest thing to printing your own money, without being illegal or immoral.

You’re really doing people a favor by providing them the information they want.

Top 11 Information Marketing Business Mistakes to Avoid

If you’ve tried your hand at building an Internet-based business but haven’t yet reached the success you want, find out these 11 deadly mistakes and how to avoid them.

Mistake #1 – Not Treating What You Do as a Business.

The difference between a hobby and a business is that a hobby doesn’t make you money – it costs you money.

If you’re serious about starting a building a profitable online business approach seriously and focus on generating revenue.

Treat your online business as if you would any regular business.

Mistake #2 – Being Distracted by Too Many Good Ideas.

You can light up a room with a light bulb, but you can cut through steel with a laser beam. The same is true with your effort and ideas.

Too many Internet-Entrepreneur-Wanna-Bes lack the will power to stay focused. Chasing too many ideas at the same time often leaves them exhausted, frustrated, and with little results to show for their hard work.

The key to success is to select one business idea and to develop it completely before moving on to another project.

Mistake #3 – Not Selecting a Specific Niche.

Perhaps the biggest mistake of all is trying to be everything to everyone. You can’t – so stop!

It’s very counter-intuitive to focus on a smaller slice of the market and most people are afraid to do it. But when you do, your business will grow faster, and you’ll more financially successful in less time.

Mistake #4 – Falling in Love With the Wrong Product Idea.

Even the most experienced entrepreneurs fall into this trap from time to time and develop products without doing any research. Before you devote any serious amount of time and effort to developing your new ideas make sure there is a demand for the type of product, information, or service you want to launch.

If you need help with selecting an ideal niche market for your business and finding out which products you should develop first, take a look at this fast track training program.

Mistake #5 – Falling for the “Get Rich Quick” Scheme!

Remember the old adage “if something is too good to be true…”? It’s alive and well on the Internet.

Countless people buy into the idea of making millions online overnight. Sadly, they buy into programs hyped up with empty promises only to find themselves “out of cash and out of luck” a short while later.

Be aware of spammers, illegal money-winning scams, and buying “ready to go businesses” that are “hot but will sell for cheap”!

Before you fork over your money investigate if those hot businesses have ever made a dime for their current owner.

Doing your homework will save you valuable time, money and many sleepless nights!

Mistake #6 – Going Into It, Instead of Growing Into It.

While the Internet makes it easier to reach your potential clients, you’re still building a business – and that takes time. Don’t tell your boss you’re quitting today because you started this hot new online business last night and you’ll be “rolling in dough in no time flat!”

First make sure your business idea works and is profitable.

That’s one of the advantages of Internet Business – you can start small and step-it-up as your business starts getting sales and generating profits.

Just be sure you can consistently replace your current income before jumping ship and telling your boss to “beat it”!

Mistake #7 – Being a Copy-Cat!

Quickly – what is the most popular business on the Internet? You guessed it – it’s how to make money on the online!

It seems that everyone who has bought a course on making money online is credible enough to teach this subject a week or two later!

Don’t fall for the allure of easy money – because it’s only a perception. In reality your chances of having a successful online business are much greater when you are different from the pack.

Mistake #8 – Wasting Time and Money on Developing Pretty but Useless Websites.

A bad idea is a bad idea – no matter how pretty you dress it up. Many people waste precious startup dollars on expensive but needless graphic design work, pretty logos, and complex web design.

In reality, many businesses can be simple and inexpensive to get off the ground. In fact, a simple site with little or no graphics will often make more money than one with all the latest bells and whistles flashing all over the page.

Think what is the core concept of your business. Outline it on a single sheet of paper, then implement it fast in it’s simplest form. You can always give it a makeover and make it prettier if it’s successful and profitable.

Mistake #9 – Not Building Relationship with Clients.

“Even though you don’t know me from Adam, I want you to take out your wallet and give me – in exchange I’ll make you the King of the Universe!” What!? You don’t want to give me your ? What a surprise!

Most people think about starting a business online in terms of getting a quick sale – with no prior relationship with their potential clients at all.

In reality, you’ll be more successful when you make your first goal to collect contact information from potential clients and follow up with them on regular basis.

It’s much easier to “sell something for FREE” than trying to convince people to give you money at first.

Make it your goal to prove your credibility online and make your business all about relationships with prospects and clients you’ll build a thriving online empire.

Mistake #10 – Calling It “QUITS” Too Soon!

If your new online venture isn’t making money at first don’t walk away from it too soon. Many entrepreneurs have multiple “failures” in their background – which in reality are lessons in what didn’t work.

Evaluate your ideas and get help with gaining a new perspective on what you’re doing. With some new ideas you might find a new way to position your business differently and make it profitable.

Or maybe you simply need to give it more time to gain the traction and momentum you want.

Mistake #11 – Being too cheap!

While it’s a good habit to be thrifty with your dollars, don’t confuse saving money with being cheap. Remember the price you’re paying for things isn’t always expressed in money. It’s also the time, effort, and lost opportunities you can’t take advantage off because you lack the know-how or are busy doing low-level tasks.

Smart online entrepreneurs continually invest in their Education. They buy marketing training programs, time-saving software tools, and systems that allow them to grow businesses faster with less effort.

The best news is getting good basic training in how to start your own information marketing business doesn’t have to be expensive.

How to Market Your Information Marketing Business so You Get More Sales No Matter What!

Direct response marketing expert Diane Conklin likes to remind business owners of the difference between sales and marketing using this analogy:

It’s always easier to sell if you offer the fish instead of the fishing pole.

Marketing is the ability to create an opportunity and a desire within a prospect to buy your products or services. The big picture is, nobody wants to put forth the effort to catch the fish.

That is what makes information marketing the big business that it is today. The industry is fuelled by the lack of time available to people and a growing desire for work-life balance. As an information marketer, you can meet this great demand by gathering information and selling it in convenient forms to people who don’t have the time to do things themselves.

3 Reasons Why Diane Conklin Loves The Information Marketing Business

1. No other business provides the revenue, flexibility and lifestyle that information marketing provides. Much of the work is home-based, part-time and requires very little start-up costs.

2. Because there is such a demand for information products, anyone can use their own expertise to create a million dollar business within 12 months or less. Information marketing is an emerging and ever-growing field made up of knowledgeable and marketing savvy entrepreneurs who package their expertise into convenient forms such as DVDs, books, e-books, CDs, magazines, websites, teleseminars, webinars, coaching programs, seminars and conferences.

3. There is a market for creating an information marketing business for just about every topic you can think of.

Using information marketing, Diane offers her proven business building secrets including marketing systems that help you effectively market your new business. She teaches all there is to know about using direct response marketing methods which concentrate on getting clients and making sales. And, she helps you measure results so you know which methods are getting you the most return on your marketing dollars.

One of her secrets includes this…

Warning for Information Marketers: Avoid the Common Mistake of Limiting Your Marketing Program to One Marketing Method.

Don’t mistakenly assume that everyone is on the internet. By using a multi-step, multimedia approach you will maximize your profits and ensure stability. Diane recommends using at least three or four sources that deliver great results.

The key is to avoid becoming dependent on any one media type. That way if one of them slows down or dries up completely you will still have new clients, money and sources flowing into your company.

Lastly don’t forget — from newspaper to internet, no matter what the media type you choose, you should always use direct response marketing. It delivers the best results and makes the most money.

How to Get Started in Marketing Your Information Marketing Business Now

Diane is just one of 12 experts in the field of info-marketing who offer real world advice in the new book Start Your Own Information Marketing Business, an easy-to-follow manual that offers steps to building a successful info-business from the ground up. The group’s compilation of tips gives you the tools you need to duplicate their success.

Top 3 Beliefs of an Information Marketing Millionaire

Have you ever wondered why some people seem to attract money and success while others can’t seem to get ahead no matter how hard they try? I want to share with you the three fundamental differences that enable successful people to achieve their information marketing business goals super-fast and become millionaires with lightning speed.

At the very core, we are the same as everybody else. We still put our pants on one leg at a time in the morning. There is nothing different in terms of skills between millionaires and everyone else.

I’m not any smarter. I certainly didn’t have any special advantages to start with. If anything, I think you might be in a better position than I was starting out. The only difference is that I have found a way to make my information marketing business work and you might still be looking for it.

I have searched and found ways, techniques, formulas, ideas and strategies that work. They are profitable. They can be implemented. They can be duplicated.

You know there is a better way to work smarter not harder and the great news is that I want to share with you step- by-step, “how to do that” and answer the question: What makes millionaires different is their thinking processes?

They have certain beliefs that allow them to achieve success a lot faster. I want to share with you three of those fundamental, core beliefs. I want you to take them on and accept them as your own. I believe they will serve you very well.

…Millionaire Belief #1

Millionaires believe in their value. They know that their education, experience, know-how and everything they have acquired going through life made them an immensely valuable human being, and has given them an immensely valuable expertise that someone else doesn’t have yet and is willing to pay big money to acquire.

They know intrinsically that they have a lot of value to contribute to other people. They are willing to trade that value for money. More importantly, they somehow sense that they have a moral obligation to share this information and value with other people. They become unstoppable in the quest to take what they know and turn it into a product, a package, system, method or some sort of tangible item that can be given to other people to help them improve their lives, businesses and relationships.

…Millionaire Belief #2

They believe in systems and duplication. They realize that things can be leveraged in multiple ways.

For example, medical coaches, consultants and speakers believe they have to be present in order for value to take place. They have to spend an hour with somebody coaching them on something in order for value to take place. That is absolutely incorrect.

Knowledge is not about the quantity or how many words used to relay that knowledge. It is about the ideas that are transferred that someone can believe in, acquire, put to use and benefit from. It’s about the transfer of ideas and concepts. That’s where the value is.

The value is not in my time. It’s not in me meeting with you one-on-one. It’s not in me consulting or coaching a company. It’s not in me talking to somebody on the phone. Those are all techniques. They are all delivery methods.

Many people erroneously think they have to spend this time one-on-one and sell time for money. That’s what traps them in a business that doesn’t allow them to grow faster or remove themselves from the equation of exchanging time for money.

Millionaires in the information marketing business know that things can be systemized and packaged. An idea can be delivered via an automated audio message, an automated email, or a product that is recorded and packaged that someone can buy independent of your ability to be there and deliver the same message over and over again.

…Millionaire Belief #3

They believe in huge financial breakthroughs and windfalls happening very fast.

One of the biggest barriers you may have to overcome in building this business is your personal belief or comfort level in how much money it is possible to make in the next week, month, six months or year.

Can you really, in your heart of hearts, believe that making a million dollars or more in the next 12 months is possible for you starting from where you are? That’s what millionaires believe. They choose to ignore barriers. They choose to ignore common beliefs and misconceptions. They choose to turn a deaf ear to naysayers, procrastinators, and people who say things can’t be done.

Instead, they say, “Let me show you how it can be done.” They put the work and effort forth and skyrocket the businesses from zero to an amazing amount of profits while impacting a lot of people in the process.

They create value and wealth for themselves. They create value and wealth for the people around them. They know that they are simply rewarded for doing great things for other people, and that their income is directly proportional to the value they render to other individuals.

You now have the three winning millionaire mindsets that you can immediately adopt as your own. If you do, you will be amazed at the growth and success of your own information marketing business.

The 50 Biggest Mistakes Information Marketers Make – # 21 No Research to Check Viability of Market

Over the last few years we’ve had a great window to view what information marketers are doing well, and what they’re not doing so well. We’ve seen some great new product launches and we’ve seen some great products shrivel up and die because mistakes were made that could have been avoided.

Throughout the next few months I’d like to share a series of articles on the 50 biggest mistakes I’ve seen information marketers make and offer tips on how they can be avoided.

Some people fall so in love with their idea for an information product that they are totally oblivious as to whether or not a market even exists for that product. Now, if you are truly passionate about a subject and you just want to write a book for your own self-satisfaction, that’s fine. Go right ahead.

But if you are writing a book or developing a home study course, you’d better be sure that the market is even interested in your subject. So how do you determine the potential viability of a market?

The list below is not all-inclusive, but it will give you some excellent starting points.

1. Examine the trade journals that serve your industry. Go to your local library and ask for their guide to periodicals. This will identify those magazines that serve your industry. Get a hold of some of their back issues by requesting their media kit. Look through the ads to see if similar products are being offered to your market. You can also pick up issues on the magazine rack at your local bookstore. You should subscribe to those publications that are in your niche.

2. Google your topic and research the Internet to see what competitive products already exist in the marketplace. Remember, competition is not a bad thing. If nobody is offering an information product on your subject you may have uncovered a hidden niche. But, more than likely, you have uncovered a niche that hasn’t proven profitable so no one is playing in it.

3. Use online research tools such as GoodKeywords.com or WordTracker.com in order to identify what keywords and keyword phrases people are searching for online. This will help you gauge the potential size of the market you’re trying to reach. If very few people are looking for the subject you want to write about you’ve got a problem on your hands.

4. If you have an existing list, survey them using an online tool like ASKDatabase.com to see what level of interest they might have in your new subject.

It is foolish to jump into a market blindly if you are entering that market with the thought of making money in it. Make sure that you take the time to do your research in advance so that you don’t waste a bunch of your time and money chasing a market that doesn’t exist.

As the President of the Information Marketing Association, I host monthly coaching calls for info-marketers who have questions and are trying to launch their infopreneur business. Here is a question from Chip in Tennessee about how to write a good special report. Since

this is a common question, I decided to prepare an article about this challenge to help you. I learned a simple 5-step process to create sales materials from Dan Kennedy’s book, How to Write a Great Salesletter.

The first step to make the potential buyer aware there is a problem that needs solving. Explain the problem to them in common terms they can understand. In some cases, they may not know they have a problem and you need to alert them, as if something is going on they may not be aware of. Other times they may already be aware of their problem, such as back pain. Your first job is to make sure they know that you understand their problem and that it’ll only get worse if ignored. For instance, if you are selling a program teaching people how to loose weight, you need to explain why diets don’t work, how the yo-yo effect makes you fatter and how diets always promise you can eat the foods you enjoy but tell you otherwise once you buy their program.

Step 2 is to tell them a very generic way to solve the problem. As soon as there is a way to solve the problem, the potential buyer no longer feels the threat and tends to continue reading to find out what the point of the special report is. To keep with our diet example, you’d explain how there is a way they can loose weight and continue eating the foods they enjoy.

That is when you can hit them with Step 3. You make it clear to them that your business, company or program is the best way to solve their problem while backing it up with the information they need to know to go ahead and buy into your program. This is where you explain that your particular version of the diet is so superior to others. Too many business people start every sales conversation talking about how great their company is; however, you shouldn’t talk about it until after they accept that they have a problem to solve and they are interested in the solution you recommend.

Step 4 is to justify the price and establish that the price is reasonable. And Step 5 is to convince them that they need to buy this immediately. Anything you can use to make them know that they need to act immediately in solving this problem using your company, business or program will work.

I’ve used this formula to create all the sales in my marketing career. When you mail these out, you can either use an audio CD with the steps recorded or turn the special report into a sales letter. I suggest giving both a try and waiting to see what the reaction is and how people react to the different formats to sell the same information.

When telemarketers call a business about stocking a new product, they are sometimes rejected because of the amount of calls the business receives I have several tips to help you get your product on the way to success.

As the President of the Information Marketing Association, I host a monthly coaching call for info-marketers who have questions and are trying to launch their infopreneur business. Here is a question from Dan from California about convincing retailers to sell his product. Since this is a common question, I decided to prepare an article about this challenge to help you.

Retailers listen to many phone calls a day from telemarketers wanting to sell their products in stores. This is why you can’t be like other telemarketers. You must have some unbelievable benefit that this business will receive if they participate in helping you by investing in your product. When you make a cold call to a potential company, there is always the chance that a moment before you called, they may have been on the phone with another telemarketer. They may have heard the speech about how much money they stand to make from selling the other person’s product and how beneficial this product would be for their business. What makes your product any better? By giving a reward for their agreement to help with the sale and production of your product, you provide more of an incentive for retailers to purchase your product.

One way to get a retailer to buy into your product is a face-to-face meeting where you speak to the retailer and discuss what major problems may exist within that company. Then you can address how your product will help solve this problem. By meeting in person, the chance of selling your product to them will increase.

Has Information Marketing Become a Shady Business? Part 2

In my previous article on this topic, I discussed the many critical components of an effective sales process used in online information marketing. An effective sales process is one that connects with its audience. It is meant to stir emotions, identify a problem, offer solutions to the problem and proof that the solutions work. The most important part of the entire process is to get the audience to take the action necessary to ensure the sale is ultimately made.

An effective sales process is one that is very carefully and cleverly planned out, tested and refined in order to deliver maximum results. And that’s great – there is nothing at all wrong with a well orchestrated marketing and sales process. What I have a major issue with – and I’m sure I speak for many when I say this – is when conniving and lying are woven into the process. When the only goal of an information peddler is to get into your wallet and ethics be damned is when information marketing gets a bad name (and reputation).

And almost always, the information being sold by those who use unethical tactics is very generic in nature and the subject matter is on how to sell information – how ironic is that?

I’d like to tell you about an experience I had recently with an outfit calling themselves “Underground Cash Secrets”. (For the remainder of this article I’ll refer to this outfit as UCS.) I’m telling you this story in order to help you ferret out fraud to make sure you’ll be dealing with ONLY legitimate marketers who operate ethical businesses. UCS was one of the worst examples I’ve ever seen of the low level some charlatans will stoop in order to get money from your pocket in the name of information marketing. And, believe me, there are a lot of UCS’s out there now.

The landing page (a.k.a. sales letter) used to peddle the info package UCS made available for sale was text book and one of the best I’d ever seen. It had the all important, attention grabbing headline in red font face. It had red sub heads throughout the letter in order to keep your attention. It had an audio greeting, pictures of exotic sports cars and mansions, generic pictures of bank statements showing large balances and loads of testimonials. This letter had ALL the elements required to stir a person’s interest and to get the sale closed. This sales letter also made claim that the 32 year old person behind UCS was sooooo successful, that he was literally living the life of a rock star.

Of course, this sales letter offered a TON of free bonuses. For buying the primary package being offered, the buyer would receive an additional 89.94 worth of free bonuses. This is just one of the sleazy tactics used in order to chisel money from your pocket. I understand it’s important that the buyer feel they’re receiving great value for their money. But, come on, 00 worth of additional freebies just for spending ? I personally find this tactic very offensive. I mean, how stupid do these people think we are?

Another all too familiar tactic used is the scarcity angle. The idea is to make you feel that your time to buy the information package is very limited so you better act right now. The UCS web site claimed that only 1000 packages were being made available for sale and there were only 37 left. Once those final 37 were sold, the offer would be gone for good. What nonsense! First of all, for the past several months that I’ve monitored this site, the number has never changed. The ongoing claim is that only 37 of these wonderful packages are available. Second of all, why would someone who has become so successful selling info online stop at 1000 units sold? If they were able to sell 50,000 units, why wouldn’t they do it?

After looking at this sales letter with a huge, skeptical “Yeah Right”, I clicked on the link for the transaction page. I don’t know why, I really had no intention of buying what was being offered. When I went to close the transaction page, an exit message popped up announcing a “Today only deep discount”. The message was now offering me the package for only – this was the discounted price that UCS normally offers to family and friends; or so said the pop up message. This just shows how desperate this particular charlatan was to get any amount of money that he possible could from his site visitors.

Again, for a reason I’m not even sure of, I went back to the transaction page where I was now able to buy this package for (mind you, including the 00 worth of free bonuses). Now, does this smack of fraudulent nonsense or is it just me? For a second time I proceeded to close out the transaction page and again, an exit message popped up now offering this package for . Imagine that, the shyster behind this web site was that desperate to get something – anything – from his visitors, he was now willing to sell the package for only a few bucks.

Well, this time I figured what the heck – for I’ll get this package that was originally . Try this for yourself next time – I’ve found that the exit pop-up is becoming more and more popular amongst information marketers.

In the end, by purchasing the package being offered by UCS, I found myself in possession of several hundred copyright free articles and e-books. What I’ve decided to do is make ALL of these materials FREE on my web site. Simply visit my site, peruse the directories to be found there and help yourself to any and all of them. Truthfully, the information being offered by the UCS web site is terrific information. Obviously, it’s the low down, underhanded tactics used to make the sale that I took issue with.

I hope I didn’t sound too cynical in this article towards information marketing. I’ve purchased tons of great information online. What I set out to do was tip you off to the fraudulent tactics used by some – certainly, not all – online info marketers. My intention is to help you avoid getting taken by the growing number of snake oil salesmen to be found online today.

The internet has become the number one most significant business tool created by mankind. Used properly, you can use the internet to research, start, run and effectively market a business of your own. Exercise a little caution when using the web and you’ll be sure to thrive in a supportive environment while at the same time, staying clear of those who seek to prey on the dreams of decent folks.

Information Marketing: Copyright Infringement Protection

Copyright infringement can be a serious problem, especially for Info-marketers who are selling information, which other users can copy. It is important to know how to protect your work and how to make sure that the people you are working with are not plagiarizing anything they submit to you as original work.

As the President of the Information Marketing Association, I host a monthly coaching call for info-marketers who have questions and are trying to launch their infopreneur business. Here is a question from Mike in California about how to make sure the writers you may use are not plagiarizing their material. Since this is a common question, I decided to prepare an article about this challenge to help you.

I think the most reliable thing you should do when you receive an article from one of your writers is search for a couple of the key terms within the articles. It isn’t always our first thought when we get an article back from our writers that they might have plagiarized something, but it is something that we should think about before we publish their work as our own.

One of the things to do when you are hiring a writer to do this work for you is to put requirements within the job description. If you say in the job description that these articles must be 100% original content and that you will be searching and doing extensive due diligence in order to verify that these articles are 100% legitimate, writers will be less likely to plagiarize because of a sense that they might get caught. If you do happen to find that something in your article has been plagiarized, simply refuse to pay for someone else’s work.

A way to check the article for plagiarism is to go through the article and pick several sentences out of them. Make sure you select several sentences throughout the work because one unique sentence does not disqualify plagiarism in the whole work. When you have selected the sentences, do Google searches for them. If you happen to find the sentence somewhere, you know that they plagiarized the article.

The same rules also apply to your work. If you are concerned, that someone might steal your work and use it, apply for a copyright on your material. I do understand that this is not free. It is going to cost like to register your copyright. However, even if you do not register it, you should put the words copyright and the year 2008 or 2009 on all of your work.

Now if you do register your copyright, the benefit is you get three times your damages and attorney’s fees. So, when you write the letter to somebody saying, “Hey, I been publishing this since 2008. I see that you used substantially the same content and plagiarized my work.” You can say, “I’m going to charge you three times my damages and recover attorney’s fee.” That has a lot more power than saying, “Hey, this is copyrighted, you need to stop.”

Regardless of whether or not you decide to register for a copyright on your work, it is important as an info-marketer to ensure that you hold the rights to your material and make sure that no one is being paid for your time, research and material. Always remember to check the writings of your hired assistants, because you never want to be on the receiving end of a copyright infringement letter.

How to Double your Business in 90 Days With This Simple Information Marketing System

When you have a look at the different ends of the selling-buying process, you find many of your prospective customers don’t like to be sold too, and many marketers like yourself often don’t like to sell. Yet every business person knows they have to get clients somehow. Information marketing provides an easy way for you to get more clients without those irritating, slick, sales techniques.

Often people think it is a matter of gritting their teeth and getting on with the dirty end of the job, when in reality it is a simple matter of giving people what they are looking for via your own information marketing products.

Let me put it this way. How many people do you know who ask a potential mate to marry them, on the first date? Sounds crazy, doesn’t it? So, why would someone buy from you right away without first getting to know, like and trust you? That’s why you want to build a relationship with a potential client over time. I’ve found that information marketing is one of the best and easiest ways to do that.

Information marketing is about giving value to your potential clients first, so they get to know, like and trust you. Information marketing also ensures that your prospect gets something of value without having to undergo a sales spiel. This alone will skyrocket your credibility in their eyes.

If you are prepared to “let go” of the traditional approach to sales and marketing, you can simply have an ebook or special report or ecourse do the selling for you. Sell to people by giving them information.

How I Made ,000 in 5 Minutes Using Information Marketing

A few months ago, I made 00 in 5 minutes using just a 20-page Special Report. I gave a 5-minute talk at a networking event where I offered my Special Report in exchange for people’s business cards. I ended up with cards from almost all 55 people in the room. After they got the Special Report, I offered a free phone consultation. Seven people took me up on the offer – and the result? Three people hired me.

Think of a Funnel When Setting Up Your Information Marketing System

Information marketing uses a four-stage process to move people from being a prospect, to a lead, to a client, to your champion.

Think of the four stages as a funnel. Your goal as a marketer is to move a person down your funnel, because the further someone goes down the funnel the more money you make. You can use information products to move someone through each stage.

Stage 1 – The Prospect

In this phase, the person doesn’t even know you. There’s no relationship at all yet. Your job is somehow to get people to notice you. Some information products you can use in this phase of your information marketing are: ebooks, teleclasses, special reports, white papers, ecourses and articles.

Stage 2 – The Lead

This is the crucial phase I call the “Pivotal Point.” On my website, I use a technique to capture visitors’ names and emails by giving them a special report. Once people opt-in, they become a lead for me. I now have permission to do more information marketing with them.

Stage 3 – The Client

Once someone has given you permission to contact them, your job is then to convert them from a lead to a client. Once they have given you at least one dollar, they are a client. I offer an inexpensive one-on-one, 45-minute consultation with me where we strategize ideas for the client’s business and marketing plans.

Think how you can move people down the marketing funnel. How can you capture leads? What incentive can you then give them to move from one phase to another and become a client?

Stage 4 – The Champion

This is the best part! At this point you’ve given the client such great service and value that they buy from you over and over AND they refer you to others. They become your marketing machine. This is where the lifetime value of a client becomes so profitable.

More Information Marketing Tips to Remember

Okay, now you see the process of “dating” a potential client, here are some more points to remember:

•	Always provide great value first. People have to learn to know, like and trust you before they commit with their wallet.

•	Moving through the phases of information marketing can happen fast. This doesn’t have to be a long, drawn-out process. You can move someone from being a prospect to a client in a day or two.

•	Always give clear guidance to the potential client on what to do next. Give them directions on how to move from being a prospect to a lead to a client to a cheerleader.

Ask yourself, what information relating to your topic are you asked about the most? Put together a special report that addresses the most common questions and challenges people face. Then find ways to leverage that report to get more leads. Information marketing is the most powerful way of “selling without selling” that I know.

How to Make Money With an Information Marketing System

If you are like most people, you hate selling. It’s unnatural and uncomfortable pitching yourself or your product. But, not to worry – there’s a solution! You can “sell without selling” when you have an information marketing system. I’m going to show you over twelve ways how you can use the information in your head to do the selling for you over and over again.

The Secret behind a Successful Information Marketing System

Your information marketing system begins with the principle of giving great value to your potential client up front and for free. Begin by asking prospects, “What’s your single greatest question/challenge about (fill in your topic)?” Ask enough people and you’ll see clearly what your prospects want.

Next, put together a simple information product like a Special Report or an audio CD that answers the most common questions and challenges. Give this report out freely. This way people will get to know, like and trust you because you’ve proven yourself by giving great value to them.

Where’s the Money?

You may be asking, “But if I’m giving it away for free, how do I make money with my information marketing system?” This is the great part. At the end of your special report you give the reader an irresistible offer to buy your product or service. Maybe it has a great discount or an added bonus. At this point in your information marketing system you want them to take the plunge and take action to buy from you because you’ve proven yourself in their eyes.

You’ll be amazed at how many people will respond once they receive value from you. Here are four techniques to capture the lead so you can later market to them over time:

1. Give away free CDs instead of business cards

Imagine you are at a networking event where everyone else is handing out their card and folks end up with a fist full of look-a-like cards, not knowing who gave them which card.

Now imagine that you hand them your audio CD. What an impact that would make, handing someone a product that has your picture on it and the name of your company. While they’re driving home, they’ll already be listening to it on the CD player.

2. Use an online opt-in form

You want to apply your information marketing system online and offline. One of the proven techniques for generating leads online is the opt-in form. For example, visit my site and you’ll find that on the first page I ask people pretty bluntly to sign up for my special report. I have a 25-page special report and people can opt-in, give me their name and email address in exchange for this free report.

You too can use this method without having to engage in any hard sell. You simply present what you know. People will be impressed and then they raise their own hand and ask to work with you or buy your product from you.

3. Turn your Special Report into a series of articles

You can get your name out there, establish your expertise and get links to your site using articles. Simply take parts of your Special Report and reformat them into 500 word articles. This is a simple technique to bring people into your information marketing system.

4. Use your information as a “value-added bonus”

You can create a simple “Tips Sheet” or “Top 10 List.” You can give this away in exchange for business cards at networking events, or you can even give it away as a bonus attached to someone else’s information product. In this way you get even more exposure, and leverage the list and traffic from those other sites.

How to Make Money after You Have the Lead

Once people have “opted-in” to your database, you then want to close the sale. Some ways to do this are by building a relationship with the lead through emails, handwritten notes and teleclasses. The more value you give, the easier it is for someone to feel comfortable buying your product or service.

Some ideas for information products you can sell are:

1. An ebook

People will pay to find solutions to their problems. You’ll win with an ebook if you target a specific group with your specific solution.

2. An audio program

Take the same information in your ebook and record it onto audio CDs. The best way to do this is simply have someone interview you about your topic. Use your ebook as an outline to guide the interview.

3. Teleclasses

People like the live interaction of a teleclass. Simply expand on the information in your ebook and add a coaching element to the calls. (Be sure to record the calls because you can sell them as additional products in your information marketing system.)

If you are in a service-based business, an information marketing system that captures leads then converts them into paying clients is a sure-fire way to build your practice fast. The beauty of an information marketing system is, once you’ve put the initial work into creating your products, they continue to make money over and over. And, you’ll boost your credibility when people see your photo and name on your ebook and audio program.

Map out your information marketing system today. Include a give-away special report and ebook that you can sell. You’ll be well on your way to more clients and passive revenue.

Seven Unique Advantages of an Information Marketing Business

Have you always wanted to start your own business since the days of your childhood lemonade stand? Not sure what business to focus on especially in today’s market? Did you know that the Information Marketing Business has seven unique advantages over any other proven business models?

Unique Advantage 1: There is a low barrier to entry. You can start with very little money.

When I was in the restaurant business, each store cost us about 0,000 to 0,000 in equipment and tenant improvements for the location. It was a lot of money just to get in, and none of it was guaranteed to succeed. We never knew whether the location would be a winner and we’d be able to break even or recoup our money. We were only hoping we would make a profit.

There is a very high barrier to entry for traditional, brick-and-mortar businesses. With information marketing, you can start profiting virtual within the next 24 hours. You can turn the faucet on and profits start coming in. It won’t be much at first, so don’t quit your day job, but it’s possible to start generating revenue extremely fast.

Unique Advantage 2: Tremendous leverage.

You can replace a lot of manual, repetitive tasks that you would traditionally have to do with things that can be automated and delegated in this business. This is unlike the restaurant business where working with customers and answering their questions is done every day. In the information marketing business, this can be totally automated.

And the best part is as your business matures and becomes more sophisticated the easier it will be to handle most of the things automatically.

Unique Advantage 3: Low amount of customer interaction. You don’t have to spend much time responding to clients.

In group and product programs, you can create an extremely successful and profitable business and impact a lot of people. This is the key. Many of you have a passion for what you do. You want to change the world and help a lot of people. You can help a lot more individuals when you are not bogged down solving the problems of one specific, problematic customer who demands a lot of your time. You can never satisfy them.

With an information marketing business, you can minimize or eliminate customer interaction. Only your best customers will be getting access to you. Another benefit is that your income doesn’t stop when you stop working with clients. This is a big issue for many professional consultants, coaches, speakers and therapists.

Unique Advantage 4: You don’t need a staff.

This is one of those misconceptions. I will tell you that most successful information marketing businesses do have employees. The more successful they get, the more employees they have. Some have actual employees and others have virtual assistants or independent professionals working with them. They build large teams that allow them to grow faster.

But you can start in your spare time with just one staff member. You. And when you grow, and hopefully you will grow fast, you can add additional people to your team. They don’t have to work with you in your office. They can work remotely.

Unique Advantage 5: It can be done out of your home office. You don’t need to rent space.

When I first started my business, the most comfortable place to work was my couch. I had my laptop on my legs, my legs on an ottoman, and that’s how I was typing my messages and did the recordings for my first few products.

Picture me sitting on my couch in my living room just enjoying my environment and creating something that, to this day, generates revenue. I didn’t have to get up and go to work, drive in traffic, or deal with unruly coworkers or rude and demanding bosses. It was all out of my home office.

To this day, I run my business out of my home office in Irvine, California. My in-house team consists of myself, my wife and my assistant and I have a team of virtual assistants, audio technicians, and web designers.

Our business is very big and sophisticated, but we didn’t start this way. It started very, very small. My goal is to show you exactly how to do it, assuming you don’t know anything, you have very limited resources and you don’t know technology. That’s how I want to help you get started, step-by-step.

Unique Advantage 6: Huge profit potential.

This happens for two reasons. First, information products and programs have humungous markups. Something that costs you can be sold for , , 0, and in some cases even ,000. Your hard costs are very low and your profits will be very high.

We used to call my restaurant a “penny” business. You have to watch every single penny that’s spent or wasted because the profit margins are so slim. In information marketing, you can afford to make big mistakes because you will still make a profit. That’s a huge advantage.

You don’t have that luxury in any other business. The service business definitely doesn’t have it because you employ other service professionals who may be delivering some of the work to the clients. If a mistake is made, who gets paid to fix it? None of this happens with information marketing.

Unique Advantage 7: The information marketing business is scalable.

Once you build the formula and platform, it allows you to skyrocket the business. It’s almost like revving the engine of a car. It may take a while but once you get it going, it will take off like a rocket.

Once everything is built and you know how to drive it, you can rev it up, pedal to the metal, and the business will skyrocket. Why? It’s leveraged and not dependent on you. It’s dependent on duplicatable formulas, systems, automation and delegation. This allows you to quickly rev up your business and scale it.

How do you duplicate yourself? I know many of you often think to yourself, “I wish there was another me. I wish I could somehow clone myself.” It’s not that easy when you’re solo professional. Hiring another professional of your caliber, education, personality, characteristics and skills is virtually impossible. It’s hard to team up with more people.

Information marketing doesn’t have the traditional barriers most conventional startups have; instead it has amazing potential for growth, profitability, and success. Here’s to your success!

Information Marketing: Launching an Info-product Into a New Market

Infopreneurs marketing info-products to a market for the first time must build a relationship with prospective customers so they learn about you, learn that you understand their problems and trust you to provide the solution. Until recently, info-marketers building a relationship with a market were limited to submitting articles in the industry trade journal. While that is may still be effective, with today’s technology, there are a lot of new tools you can use to build a trusting relationship with your prospective customers.

As the President of the Information Marketing Association, I host monthly coaching calls for info-marketers who have questions and are trying to launch their infopreneur business. Here is a question from Dorin in Canada about the methods and materials that can be used to launch a new info-marketing business. Since this is a common question, I have decided to prepare an article about this challenge to help you.

Dorin recorded several audio briefings about different challenges his prospective customers face within his market. The audio briefings contain information about the problem, they give them strategies to overcome the problem and invite listeners to invest in his product for all the details on how to implement those strategies. These audio clips allow prospective customers to learn more about Dorin, learn about his strategies and grow to trust him.

Dorin is also working on a post card direct mail campaign. He was concerned that a sales letter may be better than a post card in generating a response; however, since a sales letter is more expensive to produce and mail, he wasn’t sure it would be worth the investment. It’s always important for information marketers to test both tools. Split your list in half; mail half the list your post card and the other half your sales letter. Allow the market to determine the best marketing tool.

Many info-marketers are using forums to build a sense of community with their customers. A lot of information marketers post articles or clips of video or audio to their blogs and forums to get feedback and build interest for your program. They sometimes survey their customers to find out what they want, it can be as simple as posting the question, “what is the biggest change you face?” or “what challenges does your company need to overcome?” Then, you can create an information product or a coaching business structured to help them overcome those challenges.

A newsletter can be a cost efficient and beneficial way to keep those interested clients hooked into your information. For Dorin, I gave a quick template for an eight-page newsletter, eight steps guideline is as follows: the first page is an article in your voice, talking directly to your reader about current affairs within your business, family or business philosophy so readers get a sense of who you are and what you are about. Dedicate the second page or two to the successful members who have used your techniques to help them make a successful start. The rest of the pages, excluding the final page, are articles about things within your program or company, articles on the real world and real world issues and about how the readers can become more involved in your program, making sure to address any conflicts or problems in which the readers might be involved. You could also include an article about personal development, goal setting, discipline or motivation. A lot of readers like these articles and good news help put customers into a buying mood. The last page should make the reader look forward to the next month’s edition of the newsletter.

Watch a free video revealing several info-marketers created their products and became infopreneurs at www.InfoMarketingStartup.com.

Information Marketing: Landing Site Opt-ins

People like choice. People like to know that they have made a qualified decision based on the information they know. It is common for Information Marketers to add more options to their landing pages. The problem is that the infopreneur is seeing results without knowing where the results are coming from.

As the president of the Information Marketing Association, I host a monthly coaching call for info-marketers who have questions and are trying to launch their infopreneur business. Here is a question from Robert in New York. He would like to know whether offering two product choices instead of one product choice is a good option. Since this is a common question, I have decided to prepare an article about this challenge to help you.

Robert said he would like to offer multiple opt-ins because he is marketing both his information service and his coaching business. If the consumer sees the need for a coaching program and believes that you have the information they want, they will seek you out. Vice-versa, if they desire the information you are offering, then they will go that way. They may even choose to seek you out later on down the road.

Offering multiple program offers and opt-ins on the landing page is becoming more and more common. The results infopreneurs see are increasing. The problem is that, without the proper tests, you will not know which offer the purchaser originally responded. You may have had purchases on one option more than the other one, however, that is not always an accurate measure of your options.

The problem with having multiple opt-ins is that you are allowing the visitor to see too much information that could effectively decrease the on-the-spot sales. Then you will need to work harder to bring them on board. Sure, some will buy immediately. However, in Robert’s case, he saw 50% sales on day zero with the first initial visit to the site and the other half took him about three months to cultivate. This can be because they are overwhelmed with information or that you have not provided the information they need to make a qualified decision. Remember the word NO. No is not actually the negative word. It is actually KNOW. They are saying no because they want to know more.

There are ways you can measure the success of your offers without coming out and asking the consumer. One option is to test the site with an analytics program. Google Analytics has proven itself very effective in this matter. You can easily measure the hits on the site and gather your results quickly and effectively.

The Google Analytics software also includes a website optimizer, which will allow you to accomplish split-tests. This will allow you to test the options by themselves and together. Once you have gathered the results, you will have the opportunity to see which opt-in has produced more hits. The idea is to work smarter, not harder, to accomplish your sales.

Information Marketing: Starting a Business

When you are working with limited funds, starting your info-marketing business may require financial maneuvering. I have several strategies that can help you start your business using the funds you have.

As the President of the Information Marketing Association, I host monthly coaching calls for info-marketers who have questions and are trying to launch their infopreneur business. Here is a question from Susan in Florida about starting a new business with limited funds. Since this is a common question, I decided to prepare an article about this challenge to help you.

If funds are limited the two easiest ways to grow your business rapidly is either through an affiliate arrangement where somebody already has your customer or to figure out how to start doing this thing online where you are selling your product or service online and you’re driving traffic to your site through search engine optimization.

The first way, somebody already has an affluent customer that you want to do a joint venture with in order to provide your products or services. That way you can get your information to the customer where it has an endorsement from somebody who already has trust with them. That’s one way and probably the best way.

The second way is to figure out how to start creating your business online where you are selling your product or service and you’re driving traffic to your site through search engine optimization. Using a search engine optimizer is very cheap, and click advertising would be moderate. I would probably go online and see who else is marketing to your niche, who has assembled these people already? I would be approach those marketers in a way where, since they already have the customers you can work together in order to provide this other service to them that many of them need

When you approach other marketers about at joint venture, you don’t want to approach them saying how they can help you. You want to first approach them of how you can help them. Tell them how you can provide them with articles or information they can send out to their customers or members. You can help them with newsletters, online or offline, or maybe a CD where they interview you or teleseminar where they interview you as the expert. Now they can now provide additional information to their members that make them look better.

If you can narrowly define your market of people that are most likely to want what you have, doing a direct mail three-step funnel to them would probably be a very good strategy if the direct mail were good. The other thing is that if you send out the first wave and you get a miserable response, don’t send out the second one. So send out the second wave only if you get a decent response on the first. That way you can plan a different strategy or find out that direct mail isn’t the right link.

There have never been greater, more diverse, more lucrative opportunities for everyone—experienced, successful entrepreneurs to rank beginners—in the field of information marketing. If you can name a topic, there is a market for providing information about it.
